Misanthrop flies confidently solo on Neosignal’s 7th release with this cinematic, adrenaline-packed 12 inch. His production is epic and sends the listener off to a very special state of being. On the flip to ‘Sidereal‘ is ‘Latitude’ with its progressive, rolling slightly devious drumbeat.  It continues the techy-dark feel, but with a smoother edge. Misanthrop’s sophistication and care while working through various genres has resulted in him coming up with a sound that drum & bass has been waiting for.

This release brings together the past, present and the future in a way not many producers can pull off but Misanthrop excels at.

Freqax ( short for frequency axe) is a music production project conceived in 2008 by Adrenalina and Weirdo and created by their passion for similar styles not only in their collaborated music production but also in their many b2b sets they performed.

Pushing their music via their vast minds of years of knowledge and experience of other genres.

Since 2012 Adrenalina decided to leave the project due to personal matters leaving Weirdo as the only outstanding member.

Freqax has gone from strength to strength with his productions being a regular in many top players playlists and also released on labels such as PRSPCT & Yellow Stripe just to name a few. This has brought him to play round the world alongside some of the scenes biggest names.

His most recent album release with Othercide is full of colabs and showcases the artists talent to his full potential.

It only seemed fitting to bring him in to remix one of our favourite tunes from our back catalogue here at Druid!

NickBee is an instantly recognisable name across the darker realms of drum & bass. Constantly evolving his sound, he's stayed on its forefront since the beginning, grabbing the attention of scene heavyweights and distributing his hard-hitting sounds throughout the entire genre. Across the shadier world of the European club circuit, his music is played in every venue and his sonic cuts have become an integral part of its backbone. He's an architect of the neurofunk realm, wielding his trademark signature and pushing through the animalistic bassline he's become renowned for through this next release on Ignescent Recordings.

The experimental element to his music is what makes it interesting. The artist has become a tastemaker at such a young age, with his defining, next-level composition design never overstated or applied too thickly. With a balance of hi-tech and low-fi elements, he's expertly crafted this EP with the utmost precision. ‘The Space Tunnel EP' carries forward the type of production which has made him so famous and a defining part of the subgenre's history.

‘Space Tunnel' exorcizes the beast, with crashing drum patterns and a snare that crunches aggressively against its bassline. NickBee goes in for the aural jugular, unafraid to draw blood.

Next comes ‘Chaos', featuring the daunting vocals of Emily Harkness. Taking you bit by bit into a climatic drop, NickBee smashes forward with pounding breaks yet remains inconspicuous with his approach.

‘Get it closer' is an intimidating mix of percussion and whirling beat patterns, moving you closer and closer into its chaotic middle.

And lastly, ‘Pandorum' nods to its track title with punching drums and mysterious atmospherics, bringing forward the type of composition which is well known throughout the NickBee discography.

Together all four tracks present an EP which breaks through every rule set up for drum & basses more marketable output. The future world of 174 is ruled by people like NickBee; those unafraid to break the rules and present a different side to the experimental soundscape which is available to every musician. NickBee takes charge of this dominion, which is the primary reason he's so widely known throughout the genre's every corner.

Kryptomedic's instructions are carried by an atmospheric intro that's constantly building up tension to burst in a drop unleashing some serious fire. After having gained attention with releases on Renegade Hardware and Kinetik recently, young talent from Bratislava Kutlo is marching in with “The Raid”, a merciless Stomper driven by pan-pot-percussion and earthquake bass lines. TR Tactics do what they do best – disassembling the system in a fury and shifting orderly conditions to a “Chaos State”. Better run for cover when you see “The Swarm” coming up – Body & Soul let loose the Killer Bees. Finally, Netics, newcomers from Belgrade, are making their debut on Mainframe with Dropship, a fierce roller resembling the vibe of late 90s' Drum & Bass. Keep it coming!
