Igglybuff and Armaldo head out to explore Fortune Ravine, but Armaldo warns him it will be more difficult than the previous adventures. Igglybuff declares that the two of them can do anything they set to their minds to, and Armaldo agrees to go and the two set out for Fortune Ravine.

When the two reach the end of Fortune Ravine, the find a room with a door and four torches. Armaldo determines the key to unlocking the door is to extinguish the torches and does so with his water gun. However, this triggers a pit trap and the two discover they are in the middle of a Monster House. 

After defeating all the enemy Pokémon, the two find an exit that leads to an outside area. Igglybuff discovers an ancient ruin the distance and Armaldo realizes they are in an ancient city that lost to time. Before the two can explore further, Nidoking appears along with Officer Magnezone and Igglybuff's friends and family. Magnezone confirms Armaldo is a "B" rank outlaw and the police have been searching the entire region for him. As Armaldo is about to be taken away, Igglybuff begins crying and the entire continent begins to shake. Igglybuff prepares to unleash his power, but Armaldo stops him.

Before the two teams can battle again, Wigglytuff appears and intervenes. Weavile recognizes Wigglytuff as an explorer who, despite being young, has gained a reputation for being an exploration prodigy. Wigglytuff asks the two groups to stop fighting because they were set up into doing so by the boss of Limestone Cavern. Wigglytuff surmises that the boss wanted the two Teams to take each other out in order to protect the treasure, but he admits it's just a theory and goes over to the treasure chest and begins talking to it. The chest begins shaking and transforms into a Pokémon that Wigglytuff identifies as Ditto, a shapeshifting Pokémon. Wigglytuff realizes that Ditto was the one who stole his food and Ditto admits this, apologizes, and also reveals that he transformed into Bellosom to deter Team Charm, and into Sentret to turn them and Team AWD against each other. Ditto explains he did everything to protect the treasure of Boulder Quarry and takes everyone in the back of the cave. There, they discover a glowing artifact that Weavile identifies as a Time Gear. Weavile is disappointed the treasure turned out to be a Time Gear, something not even they would steal, and everyone leaves for the quarry entrance. There, Weavile promises to finish their feud with Team Charm when they next meet and Team AWD departs.

After the summoning of the Rainbow Stoneship, Dusknoir opens up a portal back to the future, intending to take everyone with him; however, Grovyle, mustering his strength, pushes him back into it, so that only the two of them return. Grovyle then says goodbye to his partner in the present, giving the pair all five Time Gears they need, and with his last bit of energy, pushes both Dusknoir and himself into the portal and thus into the future; they are deposited at the entrance to this dungeon. After some bickering and arguing between the two, Grovyle leaves Dusknoir behind to explore the Barren Valley alone; however, Dusknoir follows him inside.
