With the release of the New Light album, Summer Dwellers brings a new fee l to a classic genre. Lush with addicting guitar hooks, soulful vocals, and a pop rock attitude, the record boasts the aesthetic of alt rock anthems. Though songs are diverse form one another, there is a glue that holds it all together much like a concept album would. Most importantly, the record never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built from.
 
The first single, “Best In Me” is an upswing indie classic. Complete with a huge chorus and a dance like atmosphere, the songs breathes as it plays on.
 
“’Best In Me’ is a song about relationship loss and not having the choice in the matter. Love is a two person game and won't be played unless both parties play fair. The songs positive tone of Best In Me reflects New Light as it discusses an issue but turns it around and realizes the positive as does the rest of the songs,” explains bassist Scott Miller of the bands single.
 
Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Summer Dwellers is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.
 
After the breakup of their previous band Scott Miller and Kail Landsborough decided we would still write together. Working to put together a solid line up, the two found players to help the band take shape all around. It was then that Summer Dwellers was born. The bands first EP Ready For Light was released soon after. Once the EP was released, they immediately went back to the drawing board to start work on the New Light album. With the recent addition of Matthew Zelich the bands dynamic changed for the better. Plenty of vocal practice and harmony work made for a great group of recordings and the band has already started work on the third effort.“With the New Light album having a fresh member makes a world of difference not only in the sound but how the songs came together. Matthew has a great ear and pushes the vocal work to the next level. Ready for life was also recorded mainly directly in and new light used an array of different mics making the sound much thicker,” says vocalist and guitarist Kail Landsborough of the bands evolution in songwriting.

 Having already played the stages of plenty of venues and some festivals in the great Manitoba area, along with having singles played on CBC Radio in Winnipeg, the band is certainly not new to the live scene.
 
The New Light album is now available for streaming and download on most major digital outlets and the band is planning a small tour around Winnipeg along with more future dates in support of their release.

Fantine is an Electro-Soul singer currently working on her debut album, "I Am Fantine".

Born to a Russian father and Dominican mother, Fantine is an emerging multi- talented singer-songwriter, fluent in English, Spanish, Russian and French. Fantine made her musical debut in 2010, when she came onto the Australian scene by lending her vocals to Space Invada’s soulful jazz-inspired single “Super Sweet”.

In 2011, Fantine announced “Rubberoom” as her first solo single. The music video aired on Australian national television programs and was awarded "Indie Video Clip of The Week." “Rubberoom” was followed by “Eleven,“ and then her third single titled “Perfect Strangers,” was produced by Jason Cox, producer of multiple albums for popular virtual band, Gorillaz.

Her career began to skyrocket in 2013 when she moved to Miami, Fla. and began working on her debut album, I Am Fantine, with 19-time Grammy Award- winning producer Emilio Estefan and seven-time Grammy Award winning singer- songwriter Gloria Estefan (who also co-wrote two of her songs). Emilio Estefan curated and helped develop Fantine’s most popular songs, including “Bachata de Rosa” and “Reservation for Two.” In September 2014, “Reservation for Two” peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs list.

Fantine’s undeniable talent and musical style reflects her eclectic ethnic background. Her voice is a fusion of indie and electro-soul, paired with a “swampy yet sultry” tone. Her upcoming debut album I Am Fantine is infused with Emilio Estefan’s signature style and will feature her latest song “What A Day.” Produced by three-time Grammy Award-winning producer Wyclef Jean with additional production by Emilio Estefan, “What A Day” also features Wyclef Jean and El Cata.

Recently, Fantine shared the stage with Wyclef Jean at the Miami Beach’s Centennial celebration concert. She has collaborated with Australian singer- songwriter Pete Murray, toured with Dave Stewart from Eurythemics, the critically acclaimed Russian jazz saxophonist Igor Butman and also served as the opening act for Erykah Badu at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Berlin-based band Wasp Summer makes melodic artrock ranging from the literate eccentricity of Kate Bush to the angular melancholy of The Sonora Pine with many turns in between. 
The songs from their forthcoming album 'Mitropa' have surely picked up dirt from their time in Berlin. The music is tougher and leaner than on their lush 2012 debut 'Close As a Slow Dance', with the music composed for a pared-back bass/drums/guitar trio.
