The story holds a unique place in the Canon for its distinctive villain and the Great Detective's "strong natural turn" for criminal enterprise, as well as the host of thorny ethical questions raised by his actions. &nbsp; There's so much to pick apart from this, one of the shortest in the Sherlock Holmes canon.
