"I'll be exploring Hiroshi Yoshimura's catalog of music this Tuesday at 7pm pacific on @particlefm. 🍃

Recently @temporal_drift announced that they'll be repressing his album Surround, originally made for pre-fab housing developer Misawa to give away to customers who bought their homes. 🏡 I thought it would be fun to go through some of his music ahead of the release on my radio show.

Known as an early pioneer of environmental music, many of Yoshimura's albums were designed to be played inside urbanized spaces like museums and fashion runways. His music was meant to enhance the spaces surrounding the listener.

Yoshimura's approach to ambient music is tranquil and minimal, bringing bliss to listeners who are more often than not disconnected from nature in an increasingly urban setting. 🌿🌳🐝" - @atrevid000

DjSport is joined this month by special guest Ikava Pii for a 2 hour physical and mental practice. Ikävä Pii is a musician, producer and DJ who explores abstract and detailed club music. Hailing from the Mediterranean sea and now based in London, they stand out for their playful approach to sound design and unconventional textures. Co-founder of SODAA, they work with queer collectives like Riposte and HOWL, and recently launched Niche - a "weird sounds laboratory" and monthly event at the Baths, offering artists and noisemakers a space to experiment and perform together. 

DjSport & Ikävä Pii team up for a speed walking session, an exercise that is performed by keeping one foot on the ground at all times while exploring fast rhythms. They accelerate quickly without breaking into a run. Ikävä Pii leads the first hour of the show and DjSport brings you to the finish line, taking you through the second hour. Ready, steady, go!
