JR BLAC is no stranger to music. Hailing from Detroit, MI, from an early age JR grew a strong love for it, especially Hiphop. By the age of 6 JR BLAC was putting together rhymes and melodies. Of course, there was room for improvement, but... He realized around the age of 19 that he really wanted to pursue his dream. So with his then team, The Labrats in Pittsburgh, PA where he briefly attended school, he began making music and performing with them. They soon began winning contest often and becoming noticed. Although that particular venture was short lived, he managed to win the Battle of the Groups 1 and 2. They also opened for Scarface, Killermike, Dead Prez, Ill Logic etc. He eventually left for the city of Chicago, where he resides currently. In Chicago he has performed on bills with the likes of Robin Thicke, Wu Tang Clan, Devin the Dude, Slum Village, Black Milk and more. JR BLAC's most recent  album "meanwhile..." is available currently at bandcamp.com. Be sure to also listen to "Almost Famous" by Black on Black Rhyme (JR BLAC & ILL LEGIT).
