Can you tell me who, in your opinion, is the ultimate producer?
In my opinion there’s no such thing as an ultimate producer. There are so many that I look up to and that I do respect – the list is extensive. 
But if I’d have to name a few, in no particular order - I would say: Quincy Jones, Prince, Rick Ruben, Dr. Dre and George Clinton.

And what is it about them that makes them so special?
The highly accomplished ones are so special not only because all of them together must have hundreds of dust-covered Grammys and thousands of platinum records on their shelves but because they are true geniuses. Take Prince for example. With his skills as a musician (the guy plays more than 10 instruments perfectly) and producer he’s been influencing the musical landscape since the 60’s. He moves effortlessly from one musical genre to the next, whether it’s Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, RnB, Disco or House. 
Others like George Clinton have a very unbiased and intuitive understanding for the artist. Only with such a mindset collaborations in clash projects such as the production of a Red Hot Chilli Peppers album are possible.  
On a more general level the core qualities I guess would be the ability to recognize a musical diamond in the rough and to shape it into a hit. And also the ability to adapt, never to sound boring or predictable or simply to be ahead of your time.

How have they inspired you and your music?
Like I said, these are the guys that have influenced me in the past and will continue to do so in the present and future. They will always inspire me because I’ve already been listening to their music for hours when I was a kid and made me feel ecstatic or dreamy. Now as a grown-up I’m still lost in space and time if I listen to Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall – produced by Quincy Jones. I also have instant flashbacks from Beastie Boy’s „Fight For Your Right“ – produced by Rick Ruben. I sampled Dr. Dre for my own productions, using parts of „Nothing but a G-Thang“ for „Our Thang“, hahaha.
