Robert James is back shaping the sounds of his label Body Movement. In a relatively short space of time, the wax has already featured Voigtmann, Harry Wills, LVCA & SIDD (we premiered this one here) and much of Rob’s own productions. The latest instalment sees the label boss return alongside longtime Leeds pal Burnski, together known as North Phase.

The duo first reunited on Body Movement 002. ‘Zone 1’ gave us a glimpse into a (these days) different musical direction, chugging deep with the raw sounds of minimal breaks. Using a variety of vintage-synths and drum machines, he creates a bouncy and energetic machine-funk that stands as a modern take on that classic Detroit style. His production process is one of improvisation at its core, which might help to explain his great versatility in music making, ranging from dreamy downtempo pieces to in-your-face bangers. This mix is a tour-de-force of ghetto-tech and electro, demonstrating that Cyan85 knows how to light the booth on fire.

This set was recorded at Hauszeit Mietnach from 4:30-08:00. This was a pretty wild ride with a lot of different tempos & styles! The first 2 hours are more or less bouncy-peaktime-break-action, the last 1,5 hours drift into afterhour-ey vibes.

Gothenburg based producer Ebende returns to all my thoughts with new single ‘For Love’, taken from his forthcoming debut album on the label out later this year.

Coinciding with Valentines Day, ‘For Love’ is a love letter to the clubs - a rave-reminiscent, big-room track with radiant chords, trippy drum breaks and a heavy low end that reverberates consistently underneath the echoed vocal hints and anthemic top lines.
