c'è in giro da tempo una specie di 'nuova musica assoluta', astratta, che sta fra la cosiddetta 'ambient music' e la 'drone music', nei pressi dei cosiddetti 'soundscape' o, meglio ancora, degli 'innerscape' .. a volte ha tratti più 'cameristici', o addirittura per strumento solista, a volte è più 'sinfonica' .. a volte usa solo sonorità 'sintetiche', a volte invece anche strumenti 'tradizionali' .. ha antecedenti illustri, sia nella cosiddetta musica 'classica', diciamo storica, sia nella 'popular music' e nel jazz .. a quella soprattutto io guardo

This is a story, the story of silence, of pauses and absence; the story of us. We have no outline nor layout. We are a series of chemical, non–algorithmic processes. Unframed. He unfolded me, I rooted him in us. We stratified a new landform. At first, language was a code, binary. Interpretation and notation as though we had our backs turned. We stayed put, in long grass, grappling with want. In depths and heights, movement and stillness, the otherness of separation. Our discourse, our propositions, existing per se, in the making. The very nature of a duality anchored in time. And then the in-between-ness of all things, the non-yet, the modality of our together-ness. As trailing off to the edges, we defeated the onlywhere. In gestures, in postures, the void of distance. It exuded grief.
He owned his own cattle, he learnt to be good to the livestock. What was my role? My impertinent presence. I was into narrative and its logic of details, progression and subtraction. I was discursive. We both added imagery. You’re not at fault by pondering this story as a continuum through silence. Its porousness legitimated the passage of syllables, semibreves and crotchet. 

We rested by an illegible idiom. We went past it.

Poetry, Field recording and the Human Human

'I use this space to offer an experience of Sonopoetry, the voice of verses combined with field/sound recording and music collaborations.
Writing and composition marked the passage from pre-history to history for human beings. I firmly believe that writing&listening (active care/empathy and full attention to each and every sound from each and every living and non living being) could inform, guide and represent the Posthuman era that I'll call Human Human era -from sapiens sapiens to human human.
The contemporary alliance between the disciplines of Art, Science and Philosophy elicits the conceptualisation of the Posthuman that to me also implies the transition from the Anthropocene to the Age of Art as a driver of thought and vision. I advocate the responsibility to assign a 'more than human' meaning to the Posthuman concept, that's why Human Human, in order to emphasise the human core, the genetic connection to bio and non-bio diversity as per the Biophilia Hypothesis.

Born 6 January 1972, Ilaria Boffa is an Italian poet and sound recordist. 
She has published four poetry collections and she is one of the eight authors included in the North East American Association publication ‘Writing in a Different Language’ Vol XL 2018.
Over the last years, she has been experimenting with field recording, blending her spoken word with sound.
