@norman-nodge has been a resident DJ at Berghain since 2005. Being a life-long music lover, DJ and promoter of his own parties during the 90s, Norman achieved his current status as Berlin’s secret weapon for serious techno.
Born in East German Leipzig, raised in Brandenburg, Norman got bitten by the techno bug after the wall came down. In 1994 he started to promote several events and launched his career as a DJ. At these parties, he got to know @marcel-fengler and @marceldettmann and literally became their mentor for all things techno.
At the end of the 90s, Nodge backed out of the local nightlife in order to focus on becoming a lawyer and starting a family. Five years ago, Marcel Dettmann pitched him to @berghain management and he returned to DJing and became a resident instantaneously. Since then, he plays Berghain once a month, specialising in the almost forgotten art of warming up at the beginning of a night. In 2005 he also started to produce his own tracks. His maturity proved to be very beneficial in terms of his artistic vision, as he made up his mind about what he likes and what not a long time ago already. Unsurprisingly, his outings on Dettmann’s @mdrofficial label, as well as his track “Native Rhythm Electric” for @ostgutton-official left a deep impression with headstrong techno lovers. With his dusty funk, static hiss and the rich thump of his kick drums, he managed to get himself recognised as one of techno’s more unique auteurs.
Norman Nodge cites Detroit techno (@axis-jeff-mills, @roberthood, 430 West), Chicago House (@reliefrecords, Dance Mania) and Techno (@luke-slater, Peacefrog, Mark Broom - @beardman) as his most essential influences. Hence, it is not surprising that he fuses the old with the new and the soft with the tough when he plays out. “It is my goal as a DJ to make people dance without walking on trodden paths of recent trends. I want to sensitize dancers for unusual sounds, old and new.”

Long awaited podcast no.43! Uncovering new facets and treasures along the way, opening up to the potentialities of life and the magic of its epiphanies, the journey of @eliott-litrowski in the realm of electronic music is, rather than following an unexciting linear narrative, to be considered more of a timeless voyage where everything seems possible. One would indeed be hard pressed to pin down the French-born, Copenhagen-based producer to a single genre or aesthetic, so much his craft defies the conventions of floor-calibrated music while opening the scope onto further meditation-friendly rhythms and abstract atmospherics.

After dabbling with DJing as a teenager (his love for the art of wax-spinning and groove manipulation being then fuelled by scratch masters DJ Qbert and Kentaro), Eliott's interest quickly hugged the bend towards DnB and hardcore music, subsequently seeing him take his first steps in the world of club music and outdoor raves, which he soon felt rather unfit for. A key transition came when Eliott started to frequent the likes of Batofar, Rex and, most importantly, the legendary Parisian queer club, Pulp, where he got to experience life-affirming performances from Ivan Smagghe, Chloé, and the club's star resident, Jennifer Cardini, whose influence has never left him since then.
 
His shrewd signature sound - an effervescing meshwork of Italo-Disco romantics, kosmische-informed electro, breaksy progs and EBM-tinged rhythmic outbursts, has since been featured on David Vunk's ever impeccably curated Moustache Records, via what's certainly his most accomplished record to date, 'Schmock Machine'. Eliott since resurfaced with a multisensory treat of a split-12" alongside Dutch analogue wizard Mark Du Mosch in 2019, An impeccable solo EP “Long Story Short” on Dutch label “Something Happening, Somewhere” in 2021 plus a couple of appearances on label such as Permanent Vacation or Nocta Numerica. Now firmly established in Copenhagen where he can synch his passion for music and his work as an architect, Eliott has found more of the space and time required to deploy his vision, which you'll soon get to hear a lot more of in the form of exciting solo endeavors and parallel collaborations.

The Russia based Inga Mauer will proudly line up at our Dekmantel Festival this summer. And it is easy to see why: she has a high impact, strobe lit dark techno sound that is impossible to escape. This is true of her DJ-sets as well as her productions, which have been released on labels like Hivern Discs and shtum. Imbued with elements of EBM, hellish synth craft and psychedelic tendencies, she brings a fresh and widescreen persecutive to electronic music that really stands her out. 

Her mix is here just as alarming for all the right reasons: it quickly shifts from foreboding noise tracks to eerie drones, from cold wave styles to thudding house via nasty old school techno. Powerful and visceral throughout, it’s a muscular mix that takes many risks and veers off into a weird and wonderful world of sound that is never less than brilliantly unpredictable.

In her mix for Wave of Hope, Nene H, who is known for her dynamic gigs, comes back to the roots of impulsive and percussive Techno while she always sets fresh new accents.
