Returning with four tracks from four upcoming artists, LKR003 explores a variety of styles on the fringes of modern techno, with elements of industrial, noise, atmospheric ambience and clattering breakbeats forming an uncompromising whole. 

On the A-side, Strahinja Arbutina's brutal four-to-the-floor techno screamer ‘Dehumidifier’ rattles the roof, leading into Iazikzazubami’s slower, mysteriously murky ‘Brmaa’, where visions of dark landscapes are conjured. 

On the B-side, Consulate drags you further deep into the nightclub dungeon with his techno + breaks laden stomper ‘Klattenburg’, while the EP is drawn to a determined close with Hymns’ ‘Map 7’, which gathers the eerie, robotic vibes of the previous cuts, and projects them into an energetic, mechanical climax.

Ozel AB comes swinging back to the Lobster fam. This time with a hardware-heavy, industrial-blended sound extracted from the rigs of the North Sea. 

Hints of the lucid tripped-out melodia remain but this time bolstered and scaffolded with steel roads, clanging metallic hooks and grumbling machine-torn synths. 

Analogue residue cooked and filtrated from deep within the oil labs; drilled, extracted, refined and burned. Nothing is permanent and the result is a form of beautifully-smudged effervescent chaos. 

Hogtown channels a good deal of those metal rhythms underpinned by a grumbling, scuffed bass-line, clanging discordant keys and spoken word tinges. 

Ceiling-splitting UK bassline merges with a humped techno roller on Red Wet. Scorched hats, flamin' kicks and that yelped vocal refrain that underpins the heat. 

Analogue grunts and fluttering, stuttering resonance collide on synth medley Dolly Dipped. A proper journeyman jam from the dredged depths of the ocean, through the submarine hull, the thin winding metallic corridors, out of the hatch and into the surface sunlight. A journey back from the raw elemental depths.

Delsin Records' Inertia series is back with a powerful four tracker from Yan Cook. The producer from Ukraine has also released Delsin’s main label and associated Ann Aimee, as well as Planet Rhythm and Cooked. He makes straight up techno that arrests your attention and does just that again here.

'Toucan' is first and is a spangled, underwater techno track with gurgling lines wrapping round shuffling percussion and insistent drums. It's one to get into your head, while 'Puffin' is more physical, with more warped synths and paddy drums woven together into a fluid, rippling groove that never lets up. The drums on 'Dialogue' are deep and land with real resonance while dubby chords rattling out to the horizon. Last of all 'Flamingo' is the most manic of the lot, with hi speed synths and booming drums all coming together to make for powerful, sub shaking and room filling techno madness.

Dekmantel   and   Worldwide   FM-affiliated   DJ   Esa takes  Daymé Arocena's  steady-swaying, lighters-in-the-air   moment   to   more   uptempo   territories.   Propped   up   by   an   ‘80s   drum   machine   bounce,   soft-dappled   synths swirl   around   an   extremely   well-executed   xylophone   melody.   As   a   set   of   remixes,   they   achieve   no   mean   feat:   flipping   a melancholy   ballad   to   an   all-out   party   banger.   On   Eleggua,   Esa   takes   a   more   esoteric   angle   –   a   slow-build,   synths-and-bleeps chugger,   Daymé’s   distinctive   exaltations   are   the   track’s   driving   force.   

This   3-track  12”   is   another   impressive   effort   from   the   South African   DJ   sure   to   feature   heavily   in   clubs   worldwide.
