Zero Idea is the solo project of Benji Fales, serving as a custodian of the past and curator for the future. A DJ and producer based in the sanctified streets of San Francisco, he is blurring the lines between reverence for tradition and the pursuit of innovation. Inspired by the American & UK House and Techno scenes of an earlier era--rooted in the philosophy that music should be experienced, not just heard. This ethos spans beyond just his music, but is also a through line of his event series DOMAIN.

Zero Idea champions the analog, upholding the legacy of vinyl in a world that continues to drift toward digital monotony. Music is a ritualistic act of defiance against sterile homogenized modernity and mainstream culture.

His sets are an alchemical fusion of funk-driven rhythms and the relentless, hypnotic drive of techno, crafting a soundscape that not only keeps the floor moving but elevates it. Each track is a subtle nod to the legends who first established vinyl as the heartbeat of underground dance culture.

Zero Idea's ability to capture the verve of his audiences has established him as an esteemed, and influential member of both the San Francisco, and larger American techno underground, resulting in a monthly residency on the distinguished independent radio station - HydeFM, and a prominent role as a resident DJ in the Vitamin1000 Energy Crew, a pacesetter in San Francisco’s electronic dance music community.

Production is at the heart of Zero Idea’s career, allowing him to be a meticulous architect of the ethos of his brand. His productions marry infectious funk grooves, and the hypnotic-sensibility of classic house and techno. Just like curating music, the production of it is his way of honoring the past and contributing to the present. Through an abundance of prolific self-releases and label releases, Zero Idea has earned his spot alongside the brightest newcomers in the underground techno scene. With DJ support from some of electronic music’s biggest names - Ben Sims, Dave Clarke, MoMa Ready, and salute; his productions are dance-floor approved, described as both “incisive, shapeshifting” and “viciously mechanical” (White Crate). Alongside studio-mates @@, BRICK, & Skiis--he has played a major role in developing the label Capp Street Project, providing forward-thinking collaborations directly from San Francisco’s mission district.

Pulse Finder and Zero Idea (Online Narcotics) organize the DOMAIN event series, showcasing veteran members of the techno scene intermixed with up-and-coming underground techno acts; such as 1morning, DJ Shufflemaster, DJ Warning, Freeman 713, Joey Beltram, Jay Denham, Max Watts, Madness Of (Kyruh & WTCHCRFT), Mesmé, Mike Dearborn, and Mina Mills among others.


"This mix travels through the many inspirations for my debut album Xpressions, which recently released on May 16th. The through line for both the mix and the album is fast and funky, iterating on the sonics from the days of opening up a technics 1200 and increasing the pitch range to +12 or +16, playing House and Techno records pitched up. There’s something special that happens to the micro rhythms of a slower tune and squeezing those spaces tighter without the digital artifacts of CDJ algorithms. The mix was recorded using my pair of 1200 MK2s and a XONE 92, straight to the point, no FX. Flux Aeterna is the perfect home for this mix, a series that puts on for the many talented artists in the Bay Area, where I was raised and still get to call home."

Berlin-based artist Marie Tjong Ayong delivers a captivating four-tracker with her „motherland“ EP, which unfolds like a sonic ritual — earthy, dubby, and steeped in natural rhythm.

Navigating fluidly between dub techno, grey area, downtempo, and breakbeat, the EP carves out its own genre-blurring identity. The sound is rooted in a warm, organic atmosphere, driven by percussive detail and an unmistakably natural flow. You can sense Marie’s background as a trained jazz trumpeter in the subtle musical intelligence that underlies each movement.

From the driving, rhythm-heavy opener „freshelle“ to the introspective, bass-laden „tiger balm“, the EP continuously shifts form and energy. „desert of boredom“ maintains the dub-soaked aesthetic while injecting a more forceful groove, before "rodeo of the bugs“ rounds things off with deep, muted dub techno and refined percussive finesse.

'Bite The Hand That Feeds You' is the debut EP from Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Jasmín. Blending genres, moods, and eras, it draws on her Dutch-Argentinian roots while channeling the nostalgia of teenage discovery: "that formative era of girlhood where you're growing up online and building your world digitally." Across three tracks, Jasmín explores the tension between this lasting inner world and the harsher realities outside, weaving techno, bass, and dub into percussion-driven music defined by both force and introspection.

Ilona Maras is back to rattle the warehouse walls with her latest release, "Open Your Mind," dropping on The YellowHeads' powerhouse label, Reload Black. Known for her pulse-pounding productions and jaw-dropping sets, Ilona has been making serious waves in the underground scene in 2025. With support from heavyweights like Alan Fitzpatrick and Victor Ruiz, she's the name that's been burning up the European circuit. 

The Swiss maestro is unleashing a two-track sonic assault that promises to blow the cobwebs off any dark, sweaty club space. The title track, "Open Your Mind," is a hypnotic blend of earth-shaking basslines and thundering kick drums. It's like a sonic freight train plowing through a festival late-night stage, leaving nothing but pure dancefloor artillery in its wake. And those acid flickers? They’re the cherry on top of this chunky techno cake.

Track two, "Captive," isn't holding anything back either. An arpeggio bassline swells with tension, while trippy vocals and rolling snares twist the crowd into knots. Ilona Maras is no stranger to the limelight. Her residency at Zurich's Hive Club and appearances across Europe's top venues have cemented her spot as a leading force in the techno realm. This release is just another feather in her cap, showcasing her knack for creating gripping grooves with full-throttle energy.
