Did you already hit yourself with the classic “Wait, it’s March already?” Because, same. February came and went in a flash, leaving Brooklyn thawing out from its deep freeze. At least now, the sun does its best impression of a reliable presence. But while the streets were wrapped in ice, music did what it does best - turned any space into something warmer, weirder, or just plain better. And this month’s batch of releases did exactly that.

February felt like a love letter to electronic music in many moods. The long-awaited album from Love Over Entropy finally landed, and it’s every bit the stunner we hoped for. That’s joined by full-length gems from Rene Lorenzo (via Kizen), MPU101 (holding it down on Ilian Tape), and Monoparts, whose trip-hop excursion on A Strangely Isolated Place is a slow-burn delight. Need more home-listening fuel? Muzan Editions delivered a beautifully restrained ambient compilation, while Refracted went deep into mind-twisting drone and experimental realms on his latest EP on Titrate - headphones highly recommended.

But maybe you’re looking for something with a pulse? No worries, February had that covered too. Atomic Moog brought the heat on Delsin, Hypnotic Black Magic worked her spells on Art Bei Ton, øsko kept things slick on PNN, and Entire locked in the weight on Onset Audio.

Evoking thoughts of tribal gatherings and mystical experiences of the past and future, Berlin based artist, Refracted taps into his ritualistic side through his latest release titled, ‘In Veil’. Forth-coming on the London imprint Titrate, the release spans six tracks that seem to stretch time and space, enveloping the listener in field recording and drone driven journeys.

Initiation brings forth an atmosphere of introspection as subdued bongos start and a steady drone fills the air. The energy turned inwards, the thoughts of a listener calm, meditative tones and melodies play throughout. Giving space and warmth as field recorded textures swirl amidst the musical backdrop.

Initiation and the remainder of Refracted’s ‘In Veil’ release will be out on the 25th of January.

A second outing by French modular enthusiasts Atomic moog (@atomic-moog) on the Delsin Cameron series. On Blue Scale they present four more works of their quirky noodle experiments. It represents their irresistible grooves in optima forma, while keeping it wonky and alive. 'Blue Scale' and 'Landing Point' got that steady and never ending after-hours flow while 'Data 100f' and 'Impulse' are mesmerizing deep dives exploring a more broken side of the pair.

For their 2nd EP, Art Bei Ton is proud to present a new release from their label head: Hypnotic Black Magic. “Passages”, a 5-track journey, reflects the artist's evolving sound on the road, featuring a collaboration with Veiga and a remix by Solarythm.

Blending ritualistic drums with hypnotic techno, [𝙰𝙱𝚃-𝙴𝙿002] invites listeners to explore a diverse range of sonic landscapes, between mystical sounds and trippy elements.

Opening the EP with a dark atmospheric and trippy ambient track, “6AM In Paris” is an immersion into an urban landscape, where obscures spaces are gradually lightened by the sunrise vibe.

The second track, “Dark Circle Club”, is a collaborative track between the talented Portuguese artist Veiga and Hypnotic Black Magic. Born from a jam session in Lisbon, this track takes you on a journey through breaky beats and insomniac melodies.

Produced on the road between Saigon and Goa, “Enjoy The Hike” delivers a more solar and dynamic Hypnotic Techno track, blending acid lines with dreamy elements.

Remixing “Ishigaki Dragon Flower”, the great French DJ and producer Solarythm delivers a more psychedelic and shamanic interpretation, guiding the track into deeper mystical realms.

To close out the release, Hypnotic Black Magic offers a sonic journey inspired by ritualistic drums and the organic sounds from the Japanese Island Ishigaki.
