For us, VISION has always been about pushing the envelope, both musically and artistically. For ‘Chronos’ we wanted to write something with this ethos whilst focusing on space in the music, and also exploring themes of modern sci-fi. VISION has been massively influential on us since its inception, so it’s been an honour to work with them on this release.

On the album: 'Lucid Living' is a vibrant and immersive journey through psychedelic bass and downtempo. In contrast to Entangled Mind's debut album, 'Eternal Motion' (2021), a more introspective and melancholic work, this latest offering explores new territory with confidence, finding the joy in moving through a dynamic experience of intricacies and peculiarities.

At the heart of 'Lucid Living' lies a harmonious fusion of organic instrumentation and top-notch electronic production and sound design, as well as a notable emphasis on collaboration. Entangled Mind themself plays guitar, synths, handpan, bass, djembe, and shakers, as well as plentiful field recordings, making for a very personal soundscape. Further pushing possibilities through synergy with collaborators, and tapping in on additional musicians for features (listed below), each song is thoughtfully composed and differentiates itself from the last, while still flowing together as a fulfilling and cohesive experience.

Embracing entropy and a limitless nature, the album serves as a testament to the boundless creativity and expressive potential, and embodies what it means to live more lucidly in this ever-evolving world that we’re all entangled in.

The Chicago-native Relativity Lounge has long been an underground favorite across the US bass music circuit, especially considering his relatively humble profile as a producer and songwriter. With a clear balance between novel and tasteful, his productions have always maintained a steady vein of pleasant unpredictability in their various forms. For our 86th release, The Rust is especially grateful to platform the Caustic EP, the latest collection of tracks from a well overdue partner-in-crime.

The record is, above all else, particularly industrial; channeling clear influence from a dance-floor driven palate, the opening tracks introduce a minimalist sandbox of synthesis and sound design married to low-slung rhythms. Sparse melodic elements come up for air at key moments across most of the compositions, but otherwise take a backseat to the very physical bent present across every track. Ramping up the tempo for the EP’s farewell, the journey from open to close feels especially primed for the height of any night's function.

Precision has multiple meanings, not only does it represent my strive for perfection, but it's also a type of parkour movement. The goal is to run and take off from any ledge and to land precisely on another edge, rail, or corner. It only counts if you 'stick' the landing. With this tune, I aimed to be as precise as possible, and to stick the landing in terms of sound design and melodic composition. I hope you enjoy, this song took me about a full year to get around to finishing :)

Rendr is back on Gravitas Recordings July 26th with his ‘Alien Overload’ EP full of technical sound design and mysterious twists.  This full 5-track EP follows his recent remix for Josh Teed on Gravitas, and is a dive into the fresh new artist project.  Rendr launched in 2023 as a free form bass project with all original sound design and a dedication to creativity at its core, immediately capturing the ears of many with a huge debut album.  His top-tier sound design and experimentation makes for a very versatile journey through his sound while staying cohesive; from bouncy glitch-hop, dirty mid-tempo, lush melodies and heavy basslines, Rendr takes the listener on a ride through everything and anything in bass.  We can’t wait to hear more from this very talented artist and watch the journey of this new beginning unfold.

FYI - both myself and Punks Music just had a TON of tunes deleted on soundcloud by EDM.com including some of my biggest tracks, like Can't Stop, Bad, and Time To Relax Remix... over 120k plays lost just for Left/Right. 😣

Apparently EDM.com did a hostile takeover of a bunch of their affiliated channels (like Certified) that hosted premieres / free downloads, locked out the original curators, and permanently DELETED any song that they couldn't monetize without warning. Can't believe it.

The good news: we've decided to give away a couple of those tunes for free today if you follow us on Spotify (link below). Although this is disappointing we appreciate all your thoughts and support! 💪
