Bringing the second installment of ‘Lockdown Sessions’ our label head pays homage to his musical roots, deftly blending old school Bassline and UKG bangers in an exhibition that pits the sounds against each other, iconic beat for iconic beat. 

Reverent and expertly chosen the West Midlands stalwart presides over an exposition of both genres, showing how influential and versatile UKG and Bassline have been in shaping the landscape of UK underground music today.

For the next instalment of Lockdown Sessions we’re (virtually) heading over to the Midlands, a part of the country which has been historically rich in bass music talent. 

DJ Deeno is no exception to the above rule, already boasting an EP alongside an impressive array of features and co-signs from artists and promotions around the country. Deeno’s latest mix is a furious thirty minutes of MC driven bassline bangers, carefully selected from bassline’s heyday. 

Expect legendary cuts from legendary artists as Deeno effortlessly steers us through the best of A dot R, Burgaboy, DJ Q, Emvee, Murkz and Subzero amongst many, many others!

One of the most immediately recognisable names in Bassline, Freddo’s career within the genre and role as a scene pioneer can’t be understated. 

Being present for each of Bassline’s heydays and a prominent figure in each and every, the Sheffield legend’s acute sense for vocal work, as well as his signature repertoire of slamming low end and bubbling basslines, has seen him featured across the scene’s most important compilations and venues for a decade plus. 

Flexing veteran status and his laser-precision on the ones and twos, Freddo’s offering is chock-full of dubs, 4x4 bangers and catchy vocal cuts, making the hour plus of runtime much too short for our liking. 

Staying true to our mission to showcase the best in underground bass music, we’ve been eager to drop this one ever since we first heard it!

Freddo - Lockdown Sessions (SE01 EP03)

For our fifth instalment of Lockdown Sessions we wanted to secure something special for our loyal listeners: a way of thanking everybody for tuning in and supporting. 

We put our heads together and it was immediately obvious who we should contact—in stepped DJ Total.

Needing no introduction, DJ Total has been pushing the scene forward with a seemingly endless supply of legendary mixes and performances. Going from strength-to-strength in lockdown, the Leicester resident has generously poured his 20+ years of experience into this blistering mix, showcasing his extensive catalogue of gully wobblers and his ear for marrying old and new-school sounds.

Dropping banger after banger for an hour of runtime, we were beyond excited to drop yet another feat of wizardry from Total, one we’re sure will get you skanking wherever you find yourself.

With recent news that we might be able to return to the dance as early as June, there’s been an explosion of positivity in and around our shared music communities. 

Perfectly encapsulating this sunny-skied outlook is none other than DJ Trophie. A stalwart over at the award-winning Croydon FM, DJ Trophie’s attentive ear, refined musical palate and superb track selection make for sets filled to the brim with groove, with a generous swirl of soul stirred in. 

Bold, vibrant and alluring, our sixth instalment of Lockdown Sessions is a departure from our usual bass music stylings, but we’re sure you’ll agree: this one was too tasty to miss.
