Defected house hero Ferreck Dawn returns to the London label with fiery summer heater ‘Deep Inside’. What links Moby, Snap and Whitney Houston? The answer is New York songwriter Toni Colandreo. They wrote "Loves Gonna Get You" for Jocelyn Brown (as sampled by Moby in "Go" and Snap in "The Power") and also this song, "Love Will Save The Day". The "Whitney" album that the original recording featured on was a massive record for Kevin McKay in the late 80s, and the original Jellybean production (and David Morales remixes) were in constant rotation on his turntables. His many visits to London's Roast parties (where the dancefloor reciprocates his love of Whitney) led to an edit of the original and now, this cover version. Wrapping the iconic topline in tough beats, driving bass and some killer chord stabs, Kevin has taken this funky 80s jam into house heaven. Every time we've seen it drop, it has gone off!

Mishell Returns to Get Physical with Two-Track Statement EP ‘The Queen’

Fast-rising Tel Aviv producer Mishell returns to Get Physical Music with his ‘The Queen’, a bold and dynamic two-track release that highlights his playful, groove-driven approach to electronic music. Out August 1, 2025, the EP blends raw energy with melodic flair, perfectly capturing the signature sound he’s been taking to dancefloors around the world.

The title track ‘The Queen’ captures Mishell’s unmistakable style in full swing. A punchy house groove, layered with a slapping bassline, forms the foundation. As the track builds, a bold rap sample takes over, riding effortlessly across the rhythm before giving way to a filtered, string-heavy disco sample that lifts the final section into something euphoric, unexpected, and unforgettable. It’s Mishell at his most fearless and fun.

‘Awaken’ follows with a more introspective, moody house groove, carried by a beautifully arranged sung vocal sample and layered synth textures. There’s a richness and emotional pull here that shows a deeper side to Mishell’s production style that is less brash, more reflective, but equally effective.

Known for his elegant yet cheeky club tracks, Mishell is turning heads with his blend of indie dance, psychedelic flourishes, and techy, bass-forward grooves. His recent releases on Hot Creations (alongside Rafael) and his ‘Cantina EP’ on Get Physical earlier this year have cemented his place among the scene’s most exciting new voices.

Mishell’s productions are fun and fresh, oscillating between darker textures and warm, melodic build-ups. ‘The Queen’ showcases both sides of his range, playful and punchy on one end, subtle and stirring on the other.

I’ve been testing this track out on the road for the better part of 12 months, tweaking the moments until I felt it had just the right amount of dance floor appeal. It’s been so exciting to watch people connect with it right in front of me. I wrote the hook after wrapping up a club show at Audio in San Francisco back in June 2018. The crowd was really gravitating towards sustained, rolling grooves that night, so when I got back to the hotel I really felt the need to make one that was just for them. The speech in the breakdown is a sample of a local San Franciscan dance legend who I’ve respected for a long time, and I felt it was just too perfect to let the track out into the world without it.
