Hello everyone, its Wednesday which means only one thing.... time for another exclusive PFG Progcast, our global travelogue into all things Progressive!

We're on the last leg of our five week tour of the beautiful continent of Australia,  but before we depart her sun soaked shores, we have one more act to introduce. On this tour we've taken six (Bean, Cookie, Pappa, Gulati, GMJ/Matter) of her best, but we still feel there's room for one more...

The heart and soul of Jamie Stevens' extensive body of work is his desire to deliver an individual experience, as he takes us on an excursion into the human psyche with each masterpiece and DJ set. There are only a small number of composers and DJs within the electronic music realm that diligently share the same consistency, quality and humble nature of Jamie. This is his key attribute that will continue to be the centre-point of his growth as he confidently remains a major contributor, and role model, to the house and techno community on a global scale.

Through two decades of countless offerings to the electronica world, two ARIA awards (with band members of Australian live act Infusion, responsible for hit releases such as "Girls Can Be Cruel", "Natural" and "Better World”), collaborations (including one with John Digweed and Nick Muir) and remixes of the world's most revered artists, Jamie’s most recent EP releases are a true indication that Mr Stevens has matured into a sophisticated artist with depth and consistency. Stevens' hugely successful 2013 release on microCastle, "The Wonder of You”, is best described by the label: "This is a production that comes from the heart.” To really put the nature of this track into perspective, Guy J gives full respect to Jamie’s musical offering, describing the track as “one of the greatest musical pieces of all time”.

Djing consistently in his hometown of Melbourne at the infamous Tramp Bar and Revolver, Stevens’ sets have also earned him regular spots at revered events like Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake and Rancho Relaxo. Stevens has also successfully brought his unique style of storytelling, full of creative energy, atmosphere and hypnotic brilliance to enthusiastic audiences in Argentina, Japan, India, New Caledonia, Germany and Holland. In March 2019, Stevens was invited to contribute a DJ mix to John Digweed’s Transitions show and at the end of 2020, was invited to do the same for Guy J’s Echos series, and also play at Lee Burridge’s All Day I Stream events (alongside Joe Miller). 

Jamie’s productions have appeared on Lost & Found, Bedrock, Manjumasi, All Day I Dream (as a collaborative effort with Joe Miller), Cid Inc’s Replug label, Beat n Path and Selador. His remixes for Robert Babicz, Hardkiss (with Joe Miller) Roger Martinez, Jam & Spoon (with Uone) plus a collaborative remix with Anthony Pappa have all garnered high acclaim and done well on Beatport’s charts with support from the likes of Joris Voorn, Sasha, Blond:ish, Tim Green, Patrice Baumel, Guy J and John Digweed.

With more originals, a string of remixes and more collaborations streaming out of his studio in 2021, we're sure that the best is yet to come and Stevens’ eclectic, heart-felt and hypnotic DJ sets will continue to win new fans across the globe! ENJOY THE MIX x

The Future Is Now Halloween

Hello Everyone, and welcome to Wednesday! The Jet is refuelled, your passport is stamped, NO restrictions onboard the PFG Progcast, this is your last call! Today we are a short hop across the sea to another hedonistic haunt on our travels, Northern Ireland! Want a Party? Come with us.. Want A DJ? I know a guy! Another acclaimed talent amongst the many to come from NI, PFG give it up for GSEP!

John Martin is an Electronic DJ/Producer from Belfast who goes by the alias of GSEP.  It was in the early 90’s that his interest grew to become a DJ, clubs like Circus Circus in Banbridge, Charlie Haggertys in Bangor and Kelly’s (which went on to become known as Lush years later) in Port Rush were his weekly haunts. As he listened to DJ's like Gleavey D, Glen Molloy and Marty C, who all soon got him hooked on house music and his journey into the world of DJ’ing began.

He got his first set of decks when he was 18 and spent many hours locked away in his bedroom creating and perfecting the type of music he enjoyed. John quickly progressed to playing in local pubs and clubs and soon made a name for himself, creating a following throughout Belfast. The years that followed saw him become a resident Dj in Kudos @ The Parliament in Belfast, and playing at Kilwaughter House in Larne. The name was starting to spread, but it was 2006 that the big break came.  The mighty Lush (Kelly’s)picked him as their breakthrough DJ, the night that would be forever embedded in John’s memory.  Coach loads of friends and followers travelled up from Belfast to Portrush on the many occasions that followed where John graced the decks alongside Nik Fanciulli, Jon Checcini, Jon Carter, Col Hamilton and many others.
Even though John creates his own style of music he has had many influences, Dave Seaman, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Paul Oakenfold, Anthony Pappa and BT (Brian Transeau) chief amongst them. But the biggest inspiration has to be Sasha. It was Sasha’s style and technique that John aspired too in his dream to become a DJ.
Currently his influences are Anjunadeep, Yotto, Jeremy Olander, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and many many more. This gives John scope to ease between House, Deep House, Breaks, Melodic House, but his core is Progressive House.  

John has also established himself as a quality Producer with many releases and remixes under his belt from labels like BC2, Whose Haus, Pangea, Perfecto Black and many more. All of his releases gain rave reviews from the senior players on the circuit, testimony to John's craft. ENJOY THE MIX!

Sorely taken away from Irishmen and women for the last 2 years, we herald its return with a massive mix from one of Dublin's best known DJ's. Well known in the scene here for many a year, our artist today has also blazed a name for himself across the world, as far as Australia and America. Ladies & Gents, pour yourself a Guinness and Jameson, prepare to party like only the Irish can, its Jay Doyle!

Hailing from Dublin Ireland, Jay Doyle's continued love for music knows no boundaries, heavily influenced by a warm Melodic/Deep & Progressive sound. 

His sets have taken him all the way to BRC Nevada, for the epic Burning Man, performing at the legendary Celtic Chaos & Sonic Soul Tribe on the Playa  alongside fellow Irish artist Dee Montero, Sharam, Facundo Mohrr, John Charnis and more.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 107 - Jay Doyle (St Patricks Day Special)

Hello everyone and welcome to PFG's infamous Progcast! Every week we transport our listeners to another dance music hot-bed, promising first class service and an exclusive mix! Today its a short hop over the Irish Sea back to the UK, and the home of a dynamic duo making big moves in our scene right now. Be prepared for an absolute barn-stormer of a mix... from The Stupid Experts! 

The Stupid Experts are a duo originating from the small town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders, now residing in England. The pair knew each other as youths and soon realised they had the same love for electronic dance music.

Eventually, they were both releasing music separately under their own names and aliases, with tracks on the likes of Armada, Blackhole, Lost Language, Discover Dark, Flashover Recordings and more.  The pair moved away from the trance sound and began sharing their love for progressive, and it was then they decided to collaborate. 

Hence, The Stupid Experts were born. They came up with the name after countless ridiculous phone calls when they were trying to describe to each other how a part of a track should sound, conversations that would probably appear very stupid to a random person if they heard the lads!

 However it was a process that always helped them craft a very professional sounding record.
