Hello everyone this is the PFG Progcast, join us as we travel around the globe searching for the perfect beats. 

Our quest see's us back in the UK this week, and the home of a veteran DJ, Producer, Radio Host, Remixer.... you name it! Currently a resident DJ on Melodic Beats Podcast and with several new releases in the pipeline, PFG make some noise for Tim French!

Tim French is a DJ/Producer based in Plymouth, who spent the 90's playing to large audiences across the South West, including Scream & United held at Plymouth’s legendary Warehouse. He also played at many popular clubs and held residencies at Shine & Eye-con at the Dance Academy and The Candy Store in Plymouth, playing alongside dance music greats like Danny Howell’s, Quivver, Lee Burridge, Jody Wisternoff, Parks & Wilson, Nippa and Tom Wainwright amongst others.

Summer 2020 saw Tim's debut release, Roodles “I Know” on the new Melodic Beats Recordings label, receiving critical acclaim. He followed this up in November with “Short Stuff” on the legendary Prog House label Limbo which reached #8 in the UK Upfront Dance Chart with support from across the spectrum.

Tim was part of the remix package for Gypsy's classic “ I Trance You” on Limbo, which hit the No 1 spot in the UK Upfront Dance Music Chart in December.

In 2021 saw Tims third original release and second on Limbo called “Pictures” with remixes from Nick Muir and  Phraktal. This received wide acclaim with plays from Gai Barone, Nick Warren, Lemon 8, Anthony Pappa, Oliver & Tom, and many more. It charted at #13 in The Beatport Electronica Release chart.
Following on he remixed Phraktal’s “Forbidden” from their 2nd studio album which came out on Limbo Black. Further into 2021 saw Tim release a fourth original “This is the Way’ on Resonate Together, including a remix from Damien Spencer.

Tim has also been busy remixing, with his own interpretations of Paul Honeys “Its Been a While," Last two Standings “Fascination” both on Melodic Beats, and Dark Pulses “Darius” out on Pangea Recordings. He has several upcoming releases and remixes already lined up for 2022 on label’s Lost Language, Perfecto Black, Pangea Recordings, Capital Heaven, Affiliate and Melodic Beats Recordings with more to follow.

Hello everyone and welcome to the PFG Progcast, your weekly trip around Planet Progressive. Join us on the quest for the best beats we can find, exclusively for you!

Part of our remit at PFG is to find that next generation of talent, those DJ's that just need a little push to help them on the way, and as someone who has been in that position, it is extremely important to me. With that in mind, we have taken the Progcast to a place where this talent seems to ooze out of every pore. 

We're in Buenos Aires, and the home of such a bright and upcoming talent, that PFG is happy to showcase to you, so please give a warm welcome to Lucas Gomez! 

Lucas Ariel Gómez is an Argentine DJ and producer born in the southern area of ​​Lomas de Zamora (Province of Buenos Aires). His enthusiasm for music was first born at a young age listening to music with his family, from national rock and international rock. 

His passion for electronic music began to emerge when he was 12 years old when he was given the 'Clubland'  compilation album by Hernan Cattaneo. From that moment he wanted to fully learn how to be a DJ, a career move further solidified when he was given his first mixer at 15 years old. Since then, Lucas has experimented with different forms of electronic music, until he happened upon his favourites, Progressive, Deep, Melodic House & Techno.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 127 - Lucas Gomez (AR)

Hello Everyone, and welcome back to our weekly exclusive Progcast. Our mission, to search and find the best possible progressive beats and rhythms out there, join us on our quest, come see what we have found! 

Returning to another of our favourite haunts, the party plane hits Scotland and its wild eastern regions. Here, we find an artist who has a rich history in his country's dance music scene, now with the skills and attributes to run TWO labels, artist management AND still DJ to the highest level. PFG give it up for Brent Lawson!

Raised on a steady diet of 80s synth music, Brent has always had one foot on the dancefloor. A clubber first, it was a fateful trip to nearby Arbroath that first opened his mind to the possibilities of electronic music as a DJ: “I had a love for the electronic sounds created by Jean Michele Jarre from that point I was drawn into electronic music.” He says, citing the Rhumba Club a favourite venue from his youth. 
“This night has informed so many years of my clubbing history and is responsible for everything that I have done and will do.”

The late Nineties were a fertile time for those venturing into DJing. And for Brent, gigs came quickly. After a short break raising and supporting his family, Brent is now free to refocus on his music and his company Probtech Management.

Comprised of two record labels and an Artist management company Probtech is a business on the up. With key additions to his staff this shows just how serious Brent takes his brand, and processes are in place to put Probtech in the same ballpark as the Bedrock’s, Drumcode’s and Toolroom’s of the industry.

On top of his own work with Pro B, Brent has taken up a new role with MOAI
Spain as the U.K. and Ireland consultant, he is also a director and resident of AATM Radio, resident of Music Is The Answer Dundee, Proton Radio Monthly resident, and soon to be taking on a new residency with Beach Radio.

At heart Brent is a DJ who just loves to share his passion for the music with his audience. As Resident at one of Dundee’s premiere nights MITA he regularly rubs
shoulders with the best DJs in the world. Brent is also making his first forays into the production world with a few releases under his belt, including music with Hernan Cattaneo, Soundexile, Quivver, Blue Amazon and most recently a new release on Balkan Connection...

PFG -  The Progcast - Episode 129 - Brent Lawson

Hello Everyone, time for another fun packed edition of the PFG Progcast. Hold tight as we jet you around the world, on the hunt for those perfect progressive beats! 
Its a short sharp trip back to The Netherlands today and its marine city of Rotterdam. We've arrived at the home of a DJ/Producer/Theologist with over 25 years experience and still making waves. PFG, delivering an exclusive sermon just for you.... its Deacon Cross! 

Deacon Cross is a DJ/Producer based near Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He started his DJ career in 1998 and playing and dancing in a bar in his hometown. He soon got a residence in the 'Basement' of the largest club here where he was a resident for 7 years. He also started producing, working in a studio and a record store too. But when vinyl gave way to CD's and Progressive house was dying out, Deacon stopped the DJing, and made a massive turn in his life, going on to study theology to become a Deacon in the Catholic church. 

He was ordained as a Deacon in 2018 to serve in a parish, which he still does to this day. But the big question remained, how he could reach normal people in society with his message of faith, hope and love?  When he felt the need to start playing again he got the answer, his music allowing him to connect his vocation and the life of modern man. To be an ordinary DJ on one hand, and a Man of God on the other.
Deacon has also started producing again and has already delivered several tracks and remixes on labels like Soundteller, Superordinate, Future Avenue and 3 Degree. He delivers his productions as he does his DJ sets, with a spiritual content. Because that is what being a DJ is all about for him, creating a spiritual process in which Heaven and Earth are connected.
