For this special Weekly Progcast, NYC based DJ & producer duo UpAllNight takes PFG listeners on a trip down memory lane, to the golden age of Progressive. Featuring tracks and mixes from legends including DJ Pierre, Danny Howells & Dick Trevor, Lexicon Avenue, John Creamer & Stephane K.. UpAllNight gives us a special throwback mix to both inspire us and remind us of simpler times.

NYC based duo Noam and John began the UPALLNIGHT project near the end of 2018, and its been generating excitement ever since. After there first few releases hit the top spots in their respective charts, the boys explain why they started to work together... "We wanted to do this because we wanted to make some dope shit!"... What more explanation does one need?

Combining Noam's contemporary stylistic approach, with Creamer's unique production aesthetics, the duo have conjured up a unique sound, that wouldn't have been achieved working alone. "We bring different attitudes and sensibilities to the process, consider us genre-fluid, but quintessentially New York... drugged up, lush, tribal, atmospheric and deep!"

PFG The Progcast -Episode 37 - UpAllNight

Hello crew, welcome on board another PFG Progcast, our exclusive weekly podcast bringing you only the finest artists that Planet Progressive can find.

Today, Episode 39 takes us back Down Under! Australia and her DJ's are smashing the scene we love right now, with new and established artists all helping to put the country bang at the top of the Progressive and Underground dance music scenes. Our DJ this week is no stranger to it all, with over 25 years in the game PFG are happy to have secured a place for this legend. Give it up for Nigel Dawson!

The return of the prodigal son of prog, it could be said – has bolstered the scene during strange days. From the very beginnings of what we now call Progressive House, Nigel Dawson saw the foundations built and had an important role in how it was built. In the Nineties when Renaissance’s colossal influence on dance music became front page news, it was Dawson who led the line in pushing the headlines. Nigel was resident DJ for the Mansfield-based club night and brand from 1992, then at The Cross in London for years at the start of the new millennium. It was also at this time that Nigel created the beast that is Dominion, producing a raft of massive tracks that destroyed dance floors worldwide.

Now, over a quarter of a century later and based on the other side of the world in Sydney, where he has resided for over a decade - he has made a comeback in this year of uncertainties – but with a definite thump. His recent mixes have created excitement and a new buzz, with the return of Dominion too.... re-releases and remixes from some big artists forthcoming. 

Progressive House and its global following is certainly licking its lips at what is to come for the future with Nigel Dawson back on board.

This month on www.saturosounds.com radio, the first part of my tribute to the work of producer and electronic music genius, Guy J. I've long been an admirer of his work, first hearing him on Proton Radio in 2006 prior to joining Bedrock. At the time, I remember hunting for as many of his DJ mixes via www.themixingbowl.org that I could find, all of which I still have backed up on a drive for historical record. His back catalog and work ethic is truly incredible, in fact it's hard to believe there are only 3 albums, each of which are sublime. Like many others over the years, I've kept gathering as many of his creations as I can and that will continue for as long as Guy J produces music.
This first exploration into the work of Guy J was a joy, opting to showcase breadth and depth rather than lining up all the heavy hitters. None of this includes his pseudonym, Cornucopia, focusing squarely on Guy J releases. I say 'part 1', for I've used 22 tracks here with 134 (and that's still only a portion of his catalog) remaining which I'll no doubt add to over the coming months! Anyway, I genuinely hope I've done his work justice and I really hope you enjoy this journey, as ever the links to each track are included should you wish to support the artist and purchase them for yourself. 
I should add, I follow Guy J on Patreon which is another fantastic way to support the artist. I continue to gather his monthly sound packs, though it will be a long time before I create something people could listen to, in saying that an 'intro' could be doable!!!

Today our travels take us back to one of our favourite spots, Scotland! Well known for her talented DJ's our third visit her doesn't disappoint. A Big friend of all the groups and stations he's played on, PFG give it up, for Garry Howden!

Garry has been DJ'ing since 1991, where as an 11 year old he used to play older hardcore tracks from the 90s scene . Then at the age of 16 he fell in love with the trance sound of the time,  soon evolving into Progressive House. It was here he discovered Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren & many more. This naturally led to him and his best friend Allan to run their own nights in their hometown, called Dysfunktion. It was here Garry would hone his DJ skills, warming up for the likes of John 00 Fleming, Slam and Fergie. Today he still collects many records from this style of music and has loved the Progressive sound, both new and classic, ever since. He continues to play after moving to the States, and for this mix Garry turns back the clock to the golden era! ENJOY!

PFG The Progcast - Episode 41 -Garry Howden

We are delighted to bring you our 10th Exclusive Series Mix from one of our own, a resident who regularly contributes to our Alchemy Live Streams (alternate Fridays on Mixcloud) ~ Craig Pailing.  

Craig is a key contributor to our brand, but he has been invited to do an Exclusive Series Mix in his own right.  A DJ of considerable talent, great musicality, with a real gift for melody; he never fails to deliver and he brings with it that bliss, as quality melodic DJs do.  

His music makes you feel good.  

His Dire Straits - Money for Nothing intro on our live streams has become well known and loved by our regular listeners, and once it kicks off you know you're in for a treat, Craig never disappoints.  

This mix is amazing, a round up of Craig's favourite tunes of the past FIVE years.  Superbly blended, hard to describe - you just have to listen.  A very skilled offering with a lot of love put into it.

Firstly, I’d like to thank Il Modo for asking me to put together this guest mix.  I have used this opportunity to showcase some of the best melodic, deep progressive house and have put together this 2.1/2 hour mix which features 21 different tracks from 21 different artists on 21 different labels – carefully selected from my back-catalogue from the past 5 years.

I am a DJ from Birmingham, UK, and Co-Label Manager of Plethora Muzik alongside my DJ partner – who I am sure most of you know – Jimi Falconer.

For the past 30 years, since buying my first pair of decks, I have been playing, and hunting down, the best music in the industry.  The music I source has progressed from the early days of rave, piano house and breakbeat to a more melodic and deeper progressive sound.

In 2015 I teamed up with my old friend, Jimi Falconer, who was then running his own label (Plethora Muzik) and he invited me to join and develop it alongside him.

Over the past few years, I have been honoured to guest mix for various events and radio shows including supporting the likes of Blue Amazon and Dave Seaman.  Jimi & I have also enjoyed success with our monthly Alchemy Data Transmission radio show, which is now moving into its 3rd year.

2020 was an interesting year where sadly some events were postponed, but it also gave myself and Jimi the opportunity, when invited, to conjoin Plethora Muzik with the crew to create the Alchemy Live Show, this has been streaming consistently 2-3 times a month since April.

2021 is looking more positive for the industry and there are going to be some more exciting things on the horizon.
