At the time of writing, her border's remained closed and its major cities still in lockdown, meaning no way possible for Australian artists to tour again as the rest of the world began to reopen. Enlisting the help of Andrew Cook, we thought the best way for us to listen to what they have to offer was to visit the homes of her best exports in the field of electronic music and have them conjure up EXCLUSIVE mixes. 

Here then are six of the best, including Cookie, Zankee Gulati, and the Prog Dream team of GMJ & Matter! There's over 10 hours of world class music here, so please, from all of us, ENJOY!

Tour of Australia September 2021

Long renowned for his passion, dedication & flawless mixing and marathon DJ sets, and having just been voted 75th of all time best DJ of in the world by Dash Berlin World; Anthony Pappa’s unique trademark defining “track selection, journey build, & precision mixing skills” coupled with his overall way of making things just pop has seen him become one of Australia’s most successful DJ exports.
 
Originally from Melbourne, Anthony’s DJ career began at the age of 15 where he won the DMC mixing championship. At the age of 20, frustrated at being halfway around the world from where the music he loved was happening, he moved to the UK’s capital, London, to follow his passion & love of music & Djing. The move was not in vain as it wasn’t long before his talents were picked up by a core group of the UK’s biggest DJ’s who together & forged a strong squad of players that would shape the sounds that have been constantly evolving and always pushing the boundaries over the last two decades and will continue to do so for many years to come byAnthony & others alike.
 
To date, having a history of 35 years within the electronic music industry (clubs,festivals, parties) and having world renowned Origin Agency and Poster Child Agency on Anthony’s side, he has forged constant touring & success throughout South America, Mexico, Europe & Australia. With various tours seeing him, in one year, having a touring schedule including just over 100 performances at various clubs and festivals over the globe he never disappoints his fans.
 
Alongside DJing & continuing to build a reputation for his un-parallel mixing skills, set programming plus the ability to adapt to whatever club environment he finds himself in.  Production was & is still is key to Anthony’s success. His use of musical knowledge of chord structures and melodic phrasing to make sure everything is mixed in key is evident in every track he seamlessly blends / mixes together.  
 
Key tracks produced include: with high profile releases including his massive
collaboration with King Unique called “Vamoosh” released on Bedrock and long time classic Freefall “Skydive” on Stress Records which was UK/European number 1 hit single in the charts.
 
With numerous club anthem singles, remixes plus 6 mix compilations (2 at 200,000 + in sales) he has been released on labels including Sony/BMG, Platipus Records, System Recordings, EQ (Grey), Darkbeat Recordings ‘Darkbeat 10th Anniversary Collection’ and most notably on Boxed Global Underground Nubreed series.
 
Mixed compilations for Renaissance and was the first DJ to be selected for the
Global Underground Nu Breed series which saw him, play over 70 cities around the world and amass sales of over 50,000 copies of the release. Anthony has also done mixes for the cover mount CD for DJ Mag’s coveted Top 100 DJ’s edition receiving high praise from all the big hitters and industry professionals alike.

With over two decades of experience behind her Bean Cuenca has had the pleasure of playing at some of Melbourne & Ibiza’s most iconic nightclubs and festivals. PFG The Progcast - Episode 79 - Bean Cuenca

G'Day everyone! PFG is back once again delivering another Exclusive Progcast to your sound system; turn it up, push back the furniture and lets get ready to ride!

Continuing into the second of our five week tour of the beautiful continent of Australia, our trip today takes us to the home of one of her longest serving disciples. Melbourne has many a party to thank for due to his crew organising some of the best ones the city has seen... and there's more to come this year. A big shout from me personally, as he's helped me in getting this musical tour of his country out of my head and into fruition, can't wait for you to hear what's coming up today, and the rest of the month! COOKie (Andrew Cook) has been in and around the Melbourne dance music scene for just under 20 years. As a DJ he has performed at almost all major clubs still standing and also played at many outdoor events and festivals. Chief amongst those being Afrikaburn and Rainbow Serpent Festival, highlights of an impressive roster of gigs. 

COOKie now runs the Morning After Agency, which has just celebrated it’s 5th year of touring & representing Domestic & International artists as well as running club and outdoor events, including the infamous annual event The Enchanted Garden Party.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 80 - COOKie

Hello Everyone and welcome to another exclusive episode of the PFG Progcast! We continue around Australia on our whistle stop tour this month, and an artist that really is on the crest of a wave. With releases on all the right labels making all the right moves, we can't wait for this bright young talent to grace the decks around the world. Properly delighted to welcome in.... Zankee Gulati!

From under Southern Hemisphere skies, Zankee Gulati is a rising musical phenomenon. With his distinctive brand of underground house and a dash of techno, the Sydney based artist continues to develop a growing fanbase. Raised in Hobart, a move to New South Wales provided new opportunities to captivate club-goers with pristine DJ sets full of verve and craft. There were soon appearances at leading clubs and festivals like S.A.S.H, Bootz N Catz, Return To Rio, T1000 and many more. These have seen Zankee forge a 24-carat reputation in the city’s thriving underground dance scene with shows alongside industry icons Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur. Eelke Kleijn, Tim Green, Nick Warren and more 

As a promoter, Zankee Gulati’s resumé is no less impressive. Renowned for the blue-chip brand  ‘Bootz’N’Catz’ that has exploded onto Sydney’s clubland with an array of talent. Building upon performances from an DJ elite that includes Yotto, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Lane 8, Jeremy Olander and more.

Transposing a wealth of experience in clubs and commercial arenas, Zankee's growing production career has seen a meteoric rise recently. His early releases came on notable imprints as Clinique Recordings, Soundteller and Massive Harmony Records, all illuminating his talent. The “Breathe” EP on the globally renowned Particles label saw Zankee garner support from across the globe including, Tripswitch, Dmitry Molosh and Paul Thomas. 

The same level of support greeted his high profile release on Nick Warren's 'The Soundgarden', with the vibes of "Visionary/Fika" released in 2020, and a remix for Seba Busto was also a notable highlight for the year.

2021 promises to see an exponential career trajectory with forthcoming releases on imprints such as  Mango Alley, Plattenbank, onedotsixtwo....We hope you enjoy the mix!

PFG The Progcast - Episode 81 - Zankee Gulati

Hello everyone, you are back on board Il Modo's whistle stop tour of Australia, join us in our search for the best DJ's and Producers this beautiful country has to offer!
To say we're delighted to have finally secured the services of our next act, would be something of an understatement. In the 5 years since they joined forces, and countless top ten releases, remixes, a new label, multiple radio shows and DJ sets together, its fair to say they sit astride the global progressive music scene today, and the foreseeable future. We know the 3 years it's taken for us to get them here is very much worth it! Ladies and Gents... GMJ/Matter!

With support from heavyweights including https://soundcloud.com/guy-j, https://soundcloud.com/djnickwarren & https://soundcloud.com/hernancattaneo, among others, and with many amazing artists and releases on the horizon, Meanwhile has established itself firmly as a top 10 global label in progressive house.

 And despite being locked down for the best part of this year 2021 has seen the next step in the growth of meanwhile with the conception of their new label 'Meanwhile Horizons'

The Progcast - Episode 82 - GMJ & Matter

Hello everyone, its Wednesday which means only one thing.... time for another exclusive PFG Progcast, our global travelogue into all things Progressive!

We're on the last leg of our five week tour of the beautiful continent of Australia,  but before we depart her sun soaked shores, we have one more act to introduce. On this tour we've taken six (Bean, Cookie, Pappa, Gulati, GMJ/Matter) of her best, but we still feel there's room for one more...

PFG Crew please give it up for Jamie Stevens!

The heart and soul of Jamie Stevens' extensive body of work is his desire to deliver an individual experience, as he takes us on an excursion into the human psyche with each masterpiece and DJ set. There are only a small number of composers and DJs within the electronic music realm that diligently share the same consistency, quality and humble nature of Jamie. This is his key attribute that will continue to be the centre-point of his growth as he confidently remains a major contributor, and role model, to the house and techno community on a global scale.

Through two decades of countless offerings to the electronica world, two ARIA awards (with band members of Australian live act Infusion, responsible for hit releases such as "Girls Can Be Cruel", "Natural" and "Better World”), collaborations (including one with John Digweed and Nick Muir) and remixes of the world's most revered artists, Jamie’s most recent EP releases are a true indication that Mr Stevens has matured into a sophisticated artist with depth and consistency. Stevens' hugely successful 2013 release on microCastle, "The Wonder of You”, is best described by the label: "This is a production that comes from the heart.” To really put the nature of this track into perspective, Guy J gives full respect to Jamie’s musical offering, describing the track as “one of the greatest musical pieces of all time”.

Djing consistently in his hometown of Melbourne at the infamous Tramp Bar and Revolver, Stevens’ sets have also earned him regular spots at revered events like Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake and Rancho Relaxo. Stevens has also successfully brought his unique style of storytelling, full of creative energy, atmosphere and hypnotic brilliance to enthusiastic audiences in Argentina, Japan, India, New Caledonia, Germany and Holland. In March 2019, Stevens was invited to contribute a DJ mix to John Digweed’s Transitions show and at the end of 2020, was invited to do the same for Guy J’s Echos series, and also play at Lee Burridge’s All Day I Stream events (alongside Joe Miller). 

Jamie’s productions have appeared on Lost & Found, Bedrock, Manjumasi, All Day I Dream (as a collaborative effort with Joe Miller), Cid Inc’s Replug label, Beat n Path and Selador. His remixes for Robert Babicz, Hardkiss (with Joe Miller) Roger Martinez, Jam & Spoon (with Uone) plus a collaborative remix with Anthony Pappa have all garnered high acclaim and done well on Beatport’s charts with support from the likes of Joris Voorn, Sasha, Blond:ish, Tim Green, Patrice Baumel, Guy J and John Digweed.

With more originals, a string of remixes and more collaborations streaming out of his studio in 2021, we're sure that the best is yet to come and Stevens’ eclectic, heart-felt and hypnotic DJ sets will continue to win new fans across the globe! ENJOY THE MIX x
