Expect the unexpected when it comes to the second episode of the &FRIENDS MIX SERIES by our beloved Friend Midi Waters. The idea that there is always an amazing song or artist he hasn't heard yet is what inspires him. Midi's story is one of unwavering passion for music. He started as a DJ at weddings and social events, all in the early '90s. He never stopped seeking out the tunes he loved on rare import 12"s in the era before CDs and tapes took over. His dedication to music led him to a double turntable setup and the incredible ability to mix vinyl seamlessly.

Midi Waters is known for his love of the uplifting energy and forward drive in broken beat music, which he masterfully blends with other bassy 130bpm elements. This all leads to a sonic experience that's both euphoric and dark at times, but always embodies the &FRIENDS vibe you know and love.

Fast forward to today, and Midi Waters' studio in Neukölln serves as the backdrop, where he's joined by his furry companion, Phil, surrounded by stacks of records that have stories to tell. This vinyl-only mix, all expertly mixed by hand on a pair of trusty 1200s and an old Vestax mixer, promises to transport you to new sonic horizons.

Seattle’s RAINE (formerly LLZ/Ellie Dodger) is no stranger to the techno world. Having began her career in Los Angeles in 2003 as a resident of Sensory Overload, she's played alongside legends such as Brisk, DJ Irene, Jon Bishop, and Thee-O. The late-00's saw her step away from the stage but she grew her collection and honed her skills, falling in love with techno and developing her ear and understanding of its elements. Reemerging in 2020, RAINE took to the damp streets of Seattle and, bringing her infectious brand of heavy LA funk while embracing the freaky, twisted sound of the PNW. 2023 saw her support the likes of Lag, Regal86, Territory, and Lady Monix, as well as delivering the firecracker set to open Club Slip on pride weekend. For 2024 she has her sights set on releasing a debut EP, relaunching her RKD Sound radio show on Particle.fm, as well as continuing her work as a core member of Depth, a staple event and artist collective in west coast techno.

We are thrilled to invite RAINE back to play for us again and this time to play The Breakfast Club - New Years DAY!

Live recording of my 3am-4:30am set from Brit's That 90's Black Light Rave party (tough transitions and all lol)!  This is an all vinyl 90s throw-back set of song I remember from when I first started raving in 1993. All records pulled for this set were produced in the early 90s (with the newest release date of 1995) for that authentic 90s rave feel! I start things out with early (1990-1992) UK Hardcore and then progressing into songs (from 1993-1995) that were super popular at raves back in the day! Hope you enjoy!
