Hard working editor-turned-producer Rayko has decided to start 2016 in emphatic fashion, delving deep into his alternative 1980s influences to deliver a decidedly Balearic disco shuffler alongside fellow Spaniard Landerground. Built around Achtung Baby era U2 style guitar lines, dubbed-out electronics and hazy vocal samples, "Secret Patch" is arguably one of Rayko's strongest singles for some time. Longtime cohort and pal James "Rod" Rodriguez provides a pair of remixes. There's a chunkier, more obviously dancefloor-friendly "Club Mix", and a "Slow Cosmic Burning" remix, which makes greater use of the trippier elements of Rayko and Landerground's original, while adding some spacey new synth lines.

Soviet-era USSR didn't exactly enjoy the high-octane hedonism of 1980s USA. While calisthenics, Cindy Crawford and no shortage of cocaine swept the West, the Eastern Bloc remained pallid and monochrome.
Limpodisco clearly feel this historical dearth of Disco needs decisive reparation, and while their pronounced appetite for fun means they'll never Crimea river, they've set to the task at hand with giddy gusto. 
Their inaugural EP on Particle Zoo channels the dizzy, decadent Disco of their recent efforts for Midnight Riot, Golden Soul and Spa In Disco across 4 high-kicking, hot-stepping hunks of funk so resplendently 80s you can smell the spandex.

In these fast-moving times, where many acts come and go in the space of a few blog posts, it's becoming harder and harder to find artists with true staying power. Anu Pillai aka Freeform Five is one of those rare artists.

Following an impressive series of original productions & remixes and a relentless touring schedule, Anu decided to take a break from Freeform Five a few years back to concentrate on writing, producing & remixing for the likes of Ladyhawke, Santigold, Lana Del Rey, Little Boots and Roisin Murphy amongst others.

Anu has always thought outside the box. His remix of Isolee's Beau Mot Plage redefined the art of remixing, juxtaposing the micro-synthesis of the original with intricate Afro & Latin polyrhythms, creating a bonafide house music classic. Now Anu has come full circle, collaborating with Gambian griot and master musician Juldeh Camara (a member of Robert Plant's Sensational Space Shifters band) for his latest release Weltareh on the legendary Eskimo recordings. As a multi instrumentalist, composer, DJ  and producer, Anu can skillfully meld the organic musicianship of Juldeh's Fulanese riti (a one string violin) and kologo with his own studied electronic experimentation and guitar playing – as one listen to this truly epic track will attest.

Prins Thomas joins the the stellar list of super talented artists who've been invited to remix Freeform Five tracks (following on from Tiefschwarz, Radioslave, Lindstrom, Mylo, M.A.N.D.Y, Ewan Pearson, Jackson & His Computer Band and Maurice Fulton to name a few) along with a stunning re-work from Anu himself alongside Glasgow Underground's Kevin Mckay.

Dutch dance aficionados - Kraak & Smaak’s sixth studio album ‘Pleasure Centre’ was their first to be released on their very own Boogie Angst imprint, and as anyone has already heard it will testify – it’s a glorious affair of dancefloor aesthetics, downtempo, pop and electronica. 

Now we have the first installment of reworks with more to come in a full remix album later this year, first up LA based producer Turbotito takes on the album title track ‘Pleasure Centre’ and flips it’s downtempo eastern vibes into an acid house and disco infused beat. Biography:

Ilya Santana is a Spanish electronic artist from Las Palmas, on the island of Gran Canaria. He has developed a devoted fanbase over the years and is well known for his original fusion of electronic music and other electronic subgenres. The disco, house, and Synthwave influences of Santana's music combine to create a diverse, upbeat sound.

Santana is a skilled producer who has a talent for creating groovy and soulful music. Rich soundscapes, complex rhythms, and soaring melodies that take the listener to another place are characteristics of his music. Each track on a Santana album is said to constitute a new chapter in a trip through time and space.

Ilya Santana has made a name for himself as one of the most interesting and energetic artists in the business thanks to his distinctive sound and avant-garde approach to electronic music.
