 As the year comes to a close and we move deeper into the depths of winter, we are honoured to be able to release this mix from an artist who’s work seems to be the perfect soundtrack for these cold dark stormy days. In at number 20 in the frontier series we welcome the incredibly talented Icelandic producer - Waage.  

 In a scene that can sometimes be saturated in similar sounds, Waage is an artist that has truly carved out his own sound. Always deep and uncompromising , always unique. Waage tracks are easily identifiable but rarely imitated well. 

  For his Frontier mix Waage has presented an hour of almost fully unreleased music. Which is an absolute privilege for us to be able to share. The mix is packed with beautiful sequences and atmospherics , its very Waage, and its very US!  

This will be one to play again and again.

   We want to thank Kristjan for this epic contribution to the series and we cant wait to get our hands on more of his music.

Two.in.Deep is a long-distance collaboration between me and French DJ, @deeparnog, which we started in 2020, during lockdown, born out of a mutual appreciation for each other’s love of deep house music. This is our sixth volume now, our little annual back2back session and I'm delighted to share it with you again, in time for Christmas.

Space Cadets era Oak, reassembled. First released in 2012 on the legendary Space Cadets label, later reborn as Astral Industries, 'Espacist' is pushed into new territory by Boxcutter, the Belfast producer known for releases on Planet Mu, Hotflush and his own Kinnego imprint.

A funky, off-kilter jungle hybrid built from tightly programmed breaks, flashes of live guitar, warm synth hooks and a heavy, rolling 808 low end. Out this Friday on limited edition RTM cassette tapes and digitally.

Oak's 'No Sunrise' assembles nine rediscovered tracks from Oak’s early Microfunk era — works that slipped between releases, vanished with old labels or lived on only in rumours. Most of the material traces back to around 2009, when Oak’s detailed, cinematic approach to drum and bass and forward-thinking electronic music quietly shaped the movement’s foundations. The clarity of his craft still stands out: fine-grained percussion, rich harmonic work and that unmistakable sense of space he carved into everything.

The collection folds in some of Oak’s most whispered-about works: Boxcutter’s rare remix, the alternate Firebird version and the long-mystified title track No Sunrise, known until now only from Commix’s Fabriclive mix. Alongside them sits Untold, written years later, darker than the rest, driven by thick low-end pressure and a murky halfstep groove wrapped in deep, dub-soaked atmosphere.

Paired with Ricky Trickartt’s sketch-led artwork in the spirit of the Lost Dubs series, the collection arrives as extra-limited 10-inch lathe cuts and high-grade RTM cassettes. A long-hidden chapter of Oak’s work finally made visible.
