Fire Rituals is the second Microhm EP for StaticDiscos, a production that focuses on the body as a territory of exploration, through rhythmic structures that dialogue with the harmonic brightness of analog synthesizers, Microhm gives us an atmosphere to oscillate, to connect with a primordial pulse that can serve as a space for contemporary rituals.

In shamanic traditions around the world, a fire ritual is a ceremony dedicated to the release of those unnecessary energies. Music with its sensory potential and its universal communication capacity offers us the possibility of creating our ritual, through a catharsis sponsored by rhythm and synesthesia.

Let the fire be the one to renew us.

It was mixed in Los Angeles and mastered in Mexico City during the spring of 2020.

Fire Rituals

Microhm presents a conceptual EP on narratives of technological obsolescence inspired by the story of Les-1, a failed American satellite, which contained in its circuits the promise of technologies that revolutionized telecommunications. The EP is a fictional narrative about the few days of operation of the satellite and its imminent collapse. An exercise in sound design that integrates tools programmed in Max/msp with contemporary digital and analog instruments. A  journey into the past using sounds of classic futurism, exploring styles of noie, glitch, jazz, in the experimental electronica domain.
