Agnesa is a Lithuanian producer with a classical music background who enjoys bringing deep emotional storytelling to her tracks. Her journey, from singing in choirs and pop ensembles to exploring the unifying spirit of electronic dance music, is evident in "Daddy I Want To Go To Bali". A piece that encapsulates her passion for bold self-expression and experimentation. By collaborating with Nikita, she ventures into a new realm, where her emotive narratives meet his innovative soundscapes. The result is a track that resonates with listeners, encouraging them to let go, feel, and dance.

Nikita, in turn, is a Vilnius-based DJ and producer originally from Germany. Known for his dynamic club-focused sets and his role as head of Kontrapunkt Records, Nikita brings his decade-long experience and genre-blending expertise to this remix. His residency at MCKR, one of Leipzig's underground hotspots, and international gigs, including New York’s Jupiter Disco, have honed his ability to push the boundaries of sound. His take on "Daddy I Want To Go To Bali" is no exception, delivering a fresh, vibrant anthem perfect for summer escapades to Bali, Mykonos, Ibiza, or even home dance sessions.

The remix project began with a serendipitous meeting backstage at the legendary Vilnius Gallery1986. Despite their contrasting energies – Nikita already exhausted and Agnesa still full of vigor – their mutual appreciation for each other's music sparked a creative partnership. Within two months, they transformed Agnesa's winter hit into a summer anthem, a testament to their synergy and artistic vision. The get-together not only highlights their individual talents but also marks the beginning of a promising collaboration in the European electronic dance music scene.

Last week I stumbled upon a track that caught my attention. "Hot Mess" by  @CatznDogzOfficial  
I really liked the vocal, it spoke to me and brought some (not so distant) memories to me (if you know, you know...)
Anyway, I wanted to give it my special treatment, so there it is, associated to a track called "Funky Town" (Not sure where that title came from, because one thing's sure, nothing about that dark Techno banger is Funky). I really like the vibe of it, and I hope you will like it too :)

Passionate about Electronic music and especially Techno since I was a kid. 
This is why you will find a lot of older, some would say classic tracks in my Reboots. Because my Techno memories take me wayyyyy back, and I work a lot based on my emotions and memories :)

To me, doing Mash Ups is a discipline on its own amongst Music Production. I do take it seriously. It's not just quickly putting a vocal in the break of another track, not really caring if it fits well or not, just to be cool and trend on a currently hyped track.
I'd rather not work on a track I love than doing it just for the sake of doing it and actually not bringing any interesting new dimension to it or do something mediocre. 
That's why it sometimes takes me several months between wanting to rework a track I like and actually doing it. because I won't do it if it half-assed. I will wait until I have something that truly fits and makes a worthy Reboot.
My philosophy when it comes to producing my Reboots is to create something new, to take the original track out of its context/style and give it a brand new identity, something that could be a remix, or another original track altogether, not just 2 different tracks played on top of each other.
I was standing right next to Joachim Garraud, back in 2005, when he dropped for the very first time this UFO of a track that "The Egg Vs Love don't Let me go" was. He had finished it earlier that day and had kept it a secret. I remember all of our faces, staring at each other, our jaws had all dropped to the floor. The entire club was SHOCKED, stunned, amazed, in TRANCE.
This is the impact, the power, a good Mash Up can have. It can be even more powerful than an original track, because it will take a track people already know and love, with all the emotions and memories they have associated to it, into a new universe. And this is EXTREMELY powerful.
