Under the name Menja Mist, she allows for all kinds of genres to be blended and experimented with to create a contemporary musical platform that is not restricted to any specific genre or style.

Already at an early age, she had a fascination and passion for music that has since grown, deepened and evolved from a life of many travels and influences from different cultures around the world.
As a musician ( classical flute), and a solid understanding of Jazz, rhythms and the unlimited possibilities that music has to transmit emotions, she took to Dj-ing some ten years ago, with a preference for the pronounced rhythms and bass-lines of the Deep House, Tech House and Techno Minimal genres.
Her sets take the audience on a journey into groovy rhythms and 'feet-movin' beats.

Born in Sweden, with the ¨Nordic sound¨ as a base, and early on in life introduced to different cultures, she has a varied and vast musical background.

The name Menja Mist is a combination of two females found in Nordic mythology.
Mist was a valkyrie, said to have been one of Odin's servants. 
The name meaning cloud, vapor or mist and reminds of the way valkyries can ride through air and water.
Menja and her sister Fenja were giantesses.
They were bought by King Frode to operate his magical mill, Grotte 
(Grottekvarn).
It was said that the mill would produce whatever was sung by the grinders.
Menja and Fenja were forced to sing about gold, happiness and power for King Frode.
No one had been strong enough to move the grindstone until Menja and Fenja arrived and King Frode would not allow them to rest longer than it took for them to sing a song.
When King Frode was not there to keep an eye on them, they sung songs about armies that would bring down King Frode.
I chose this combination because it so beautifully encompasses the power of music with the subtle magical mist of creativity.

Biography of Letizia Carrero


Well known in London scene, Letizia started her love affair with music at the age of 6 when she started in the conservatory of Music in Salamanca Spain but her passion for electronic music take us back to 80´s when she was experimenting the Valencia-Ibiza connection. 
At the age of 18 moved to London and discovered Ministry of Sound, club which was at its top by this time and where Letizia worked the first 3 years of the opening. After that, Letizia got involved in several projects which led her to live back in Spain, Mexico, and Miami. 
Back to the UK , she decided to further her music studies at a well known University in London and became sound engineer, to develop her creativity into music. 
Her musical roots comes from Punk to Electronic body music and Acid. With an ear to the late 80’s sound of Spain’s Acid House parties and Ibiza’s crazy clubbing, but with the strong desire of creating fresh new sounds, she teamed up with Nitrous Record’s producers and remixers to release her first public track in 2008. She has release various EP's on different label's  and her new one " Intoxication " and PUSH with her also upcoming release "You are mine which will be out March 2018.
Letizia has found herself playing at some of the best clubs in the world, connecting the dots between several countries around the globe , and sharing booth with world wide names such as , Derrick May, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Marc Antona, Martin Landsky, Eats Everything, ...just to name a few. Oficial resident at one of the best clubs in the world, Ministry Of Sound (London) and collaborating with 'El Nocturno' playing at their monthly residency in McQueen, among other parties in the city. Her new nights in London, named after her label, will be launched beginning of 2019 ( POLYESTER LIVE)
Her charming personality and electric energy is imprint in every Dj set taking the audience on an adventure.
Her impeccable taste in music already made a statement.

She is also the responsible behind the London label, Polyester Records founder and runner with a keen eye in discovering new talents.

I've been writing music since i was nine. I love to make music. I consider myself a songwriter for other artists. I play the guitar and own three of them. I have a home studio where i would love to collaborate with other artists for fun. My name is The Black Gypsy because you never know what i will come out with next. Its eclectic, different, and comes from my soul. Hope to inspire others by listening to my story. I dont have a home and i am just meant to bless and roam.
