On the outside he hadn't changed, his face looked the same — his eyes remained sunken, his brow still furrowed — but there was something different about his personality. There was a renewed sense of self, he seemed assured, reborn almost, which was a far cry away from the person she'd known before. What had spurred on this change? Where had it come from? She needed a dose of whatever he'd taken...

Paris' La Mverte has made a name for himself through his slew of releases on Her Majesty's Ship, which blur the borders between sounds like new wave, electro, acid and dark disco. Now he's taking matters into his own hands with the launch of his new label Les Enfers, and much like the sonics we've come to know him for, the imprint will continue to swirl around dark, hypnotic, punk-tinged sounds.

Titled 'Alchemy Calls', the EP sees La Mverte pay homage, in name, to the different alchemical stages associated with working with the prima materia to produce the philosopher's stone. Backed by two remixes from Javi Redondo and Anatolian Weapons, and featuring a collaboration with Vox Low singer Jean-Christophe Couderc, the original tracks tip the hat to electro and Belgian new beat, driven by gritty machines and filled with raw energy.

According to Homer's "Odyssey" the nymph Calypso, who resided in the island of Ogygia, put a spell on the sailor Odysseus who shipwrecked on the island when on his way to Ithaca.
After being abducted for 10 years he was freed from the psychedelic state of the love spell. Calypso died of grief when Odysseus sailed back to his wife Penelope.
This compilation is a musical representation of the myth. An ode to passion and psychedelia. Musically speaking the compilation is a flow of evocative sounds ranging from fourth world, new age, psych-rock, dark ambient, techno, dub & electronica that provide an epic wholeness to the concept.
The tape’s artwork is an abstracted portrayal of Odysseus, encapsulating a gloomy, dream-like state of mind prevailing when under a spell of seduction. He is as the island beneath his feet, surrounded by emptiness of the sea, trapped with nowhere to go.

As a youngster, disappearing into the background had always been a talent of his; he'd managed to perfect the art of invisibility. While others preferred to stand out from the crowd, he preferred to follow them instead, he had no qualms with being a sheep. This all changed later in life. His peers and their antiquated opinions began to grate on him, he could no longer remain mute. But wasting his breath on these so-called friends was pointless, he simply wanted to break away.

It's been 10 years since French duo Scratch Massive released their seminal Nuit De Reve LP. Featuring guest vocals from the likes of Jimmy Somerville, Daniel Agust, Koudlam and Chloe, the release was an embodiment of Scratch Massive's approach to new wave, electro and slo-mo house. Now, a decade on, the pair have drafted in several products to reimagine the original tracks, offering a new perspective on their cinematic sounds. Amongst those featured on the remix package are Innervisions Ame, Dark Entries affiliate Bézier, The Populists, Thomas Schumacher and Vilnius hero Manfredas, with the reworks stretching from progressive house to raw electro, cosmic disco and pacy techno.

Perched on a crossroads, Pin Up Club approaches electronic music with a magpie’s nature. A spread of styles has been picked, plucked and plundered to make ‘Friends Of The Vortex’. The title piece snaps with clean beats as Blade Runner bars build with an energy that can only be described as palpable. Latin percussion and samples get the groove going for ‘Children Of The Void’. Flirting, the tone twirls and turns. Keys are big and full bodied, balanced perfectly by the crack of a snare. ‘Out Of The Unknown’ closes. A slow burning piece brimming with brooding cinematic shapes and strings, a work that shows the colder edge of this dutch duo. Quality through and through.

Paris-based imprint @globalwarmingrec starts the decade looking at the future, with a bass-infused Various that compiles four avant-garde club bullets from artists and friends close to the label.
The release is opened by @malcolmaudio , curator of the EP and label honcho, who gives the mood with a slomo post-rave break, where ethereal vocal samples, acid pinches and a loud reese bass are smashed by a hostile kick storm.
Then, the one-man band performer and unpredictable producer Ouai Stéphane delivers an epileptic reinterpretation of his drum and bass roots. His signature bleeping sounds and self-made vocals elements are here chopped over by a frantic pump bass and complex drum patterns. A landmark for the guy.
After what, the dark child Slowglide, previously heard on Antinote or Comic Sans Records makes here his Global Warming debut, delivering the perfect anthem for Gotham City nightclubs, merging industrial mood and codeine effect into one.
Finally, closing the whole thing, Parisian badman Jon Beige delivers a mental half-time gabber creature, where a bone-crusher rythmic section blends with thrilling industrial jams, sci-fi atmospheres and a haunting vocal, at the speed of light.

Founder of the online media Heeboo and DJ resident for Chosen Family parties at famous La Station-Gare des Mines club in Paris, Adeline Journet, aka F/cken Chipotle, started producing music during 2020 summer. Former member of the feminist collective Barbi(e)turix, she runs every month a radio show for Station Station radio, called C’était Mieux Demain (It used to be better tomorrow).


In 2020 she left her job in brand content and took a break to start producing music. After a few months she made her closest people listen to it, and also the DJ Pasteur Charles who motivated her to send her first track to the queer platform for young producers, Les Disques Du Lobby. On dec. 16, No Filter was online. Angry, troubled, stormy, No Filter is a sweet and sour track aimed at making people dance and cry at the same time, without pretension, but more than promising. 


The story for Yolo is way different. Yolo is about finding peace and joy when stuck in a crisis situation. Yolo is about the celebration of what’s left after the storm. Yolo is about seeing the light at the end of the corridor. Yolo is about inside movement and change. «Bring the palms together, inhale in, deep breathe, here we go»
