There has been so much tragedy, so many broken lives and hearts since the outset of the war in Ukraine. In the earliest days of the conflict, a Kiev family was brutally attacked whilst trying to flee the city; most, including Polina, did not survive. To reflect on one particular instance from the enormity of grief in Ukraine is, I sincerely hope, to give focus to it all.   

So, in memory of Polina (aged 10), her family and so many others who have lost their lives in Ukraine.

Funny Kind of Sad

The name Miranda comes from the Latin word for "Wonderful" and was first used as a given name by William Shakespeare in The Tempest.

It's also the name of a dearly beloved cat.

As the title implies, this is a sea shanty inspired instrumental.

As I wrote this piece on piano, my intention was to record it as a guitar piece. However, I liked the result on piano, so here it is. A guitar version will likely come as well.

I had fun writing and recording this piece, and I hope you enjoy listening.

1年半くらい前からピアノを練習しています。
「これなら弾ける!!ジャズ・ピアノ」という本に載っていた、北島直樹さんが編曲した「Moanin'」にチャレンジしました。これは昨年録音したものです。
ちょっとミスっています(^^;)
ここを発表の場にして、もっと上手くなっていきたいと思いますのでどうか応援してください(笑)

I've been practicing piano for about a year and a half.
I tried ``Moanin''' arranged by Naoki Kitajima, which was featured in the book ``You Can Play This! Jazz Piano''. This was recorded last year.
I made a little mistake (^^;) 
I would like to use this as a place to make presentations and become even better, so please support me (lol)

My 2nd attempt at this mix, due to Traktor disappearing! Sound, Program, the works, all that was left was me, in dismay and quite pissed off!!!  Especially as it turned out to be windows update again, and by the time I got it sorted, I couldn't remember what order I'd played the tunes in or even what tunes I'd played! Lol
I thought the 1st go up to it's demise, sounded better, but it was early on, although there's a few bits that spoil this, there are some fucking amazing bits, several, not to mention some seriously banging and mind bending tunes!!!!!!!1
