Hotflush unveils its second release of 2015 in the form of a collaborative single between label mainstay Locked Groove and ascendant Italian duo Mind Against.

With both acts coming off the back of triumphant finishes to 2014 - the success of Locked Groove's huge Enigma EP and Mind Against's surge into #33 position in Resident Advisor's 2014 DJ poll - 'Elysium / Pulsar' marks the first time the producers have collaborated. The end result combines Locked Groove's punchy, dancefloor-ready aesthestic and the emotionally resonant melodics that Mind Against have made their signature since breaking through with Life And Death in 2013.

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

It’s time, once again, to get into the MOOD. Our driver for the label’s latest shady soiree is the boss herself: Nicole Moudaber.

Currently cruising on the trip of her life (literally – she’s just passed her race driver test), Nicole is wrapping up 2015 at unfathomable speeds right now. Fresh from her legendary ‘Breed’ collaborations with Skin and remixing Pan Pot, Scuba and recently Black Asteroid all within the last three months, Nicole unleashes her first solo triple-tracker in a long time…

‘Silent Sigh’ commences the adventure with an unhurried build as each bar sees a new space age texture wrapping around her stoic kicks. Gradually the elements disappear until all you can see, feel and hear is black. Stark designs twist through the ether from left to right then boom: an even darker, sub-laden kick pressure ignites from nowhere. Trust us, this will do more than make your dancefloor sigh…

We proceed with intimacy as Nicole persuades us to ‘Move A Little Closer’. The beats underpin her whispers and do well to magnetise, but it’s the gradual ice blast pads that really allure. Building and building with ageless progression, the big pay-off comes with one of the most delicious, almost cosmic, breakdowns Nicole has ever crafted.

MOOD now fully established, ‘Own’ has the honour of closing the show. Relentless kicks and a scratchy snare paint the backdrop for bold splashes of colour as eastern vocals ghost through the spectrum weaving mystically around Nicole’s signature insistent percussive dynamics, escalating into shamanic oblivion.

The station was empty. The yellow lights along the platform seemed only to frame the night, giving the sense that I sat in the last enclave of existence. Silence was all around me as I awaited the arrival of my train.

I didn't have to wait long: slowly, the harsh screeching of the wheels along the track began to strike my ears, growing to a deafening roar as the behemoth rolled to a stop before me. I stood up, walked to the door and boarded the train, quickly locating a seat at the end of the carriage.

And the journey began..

Born in Vienna, Austria – in a French environment – leschueft's first contact with electronic music was with the "French House" genre with artists like Étienne de Crécy, Superfunk, Stardust and Daft Punk. Somehow he slipped into the viennese Drum'n'Bass scene which got him hooked for a few years to finally make his break to Minimal back in 2007. From there it was a continuous journey towards the musical genres he listens to today, namely Electronica, Deep/Tech House and more recently Techno.

His passion and insatiable desire to find and share mesmerizing  tunes led him to start mixing in the winter of 2014. Heavily influenced and inspired by the Diynamic Crew (David August, DJ Phono, Adriatique and Kollektiv Turmstrasse) when it comes to building up a mix/set, he can't help himself but to start with a slower tune and progressively increase the pace as he believes in the strength of a good build-up.
