John Daw (aka Hotevilla, aka KALK) is a French music producer whose work is devoted to electronic soundscapes and dance music since the mid 1990s.

John Daw kicked off his journey in the mid-'90s with the duo KALK, dropping well-received EPs like "Akasha" and "In The Spirit." The latter, featuring a notable collaboration with Mandel Turner, even garnered significant international interest. His work got a fresh global spotlight in 2017 when Gerd Janson re-released "Akasha" on Running Back Double Copy. Critics hailed it as a "true beauty in the somewhat underrated tech-house genre, with melancholic vibes, hypnotic basslines, and driving drum programming." 

This push led to the Hotevilla project, where John Daw digs into the many facets of House Music. His tracks have really connected, like "If I Told You," a collab with Javonntte (supported by Crackazat, DJ Spinna, Alex Agore, Opolopo, Intr0beatz and Bernard Badie), and other tunes like "You're Dreaming" (backed by Miguel Migs) and "Twice A Night" (pushed by Demuir and Junior Sanchez, and supported by Dave Lee).

More recently, his track "Fake" dropping on an Outboard Music compilation, curated by Brawther, just seals John’s commitment to the deep house scene. His purpose is simple: Exploring the many shades of House Music.
