A Columbia, Missouri Native artist Reasn leaves his mark with powerful honest lyrics, bold falsetto and a refreshing sonic blend of pop, rock and urban elements. His name has gradually spread over the past year after releasing music independently and touring with multi-platinum selling artist BoB.

Reasn’s passion for singing developed early on singing in church where his mother was a choir director. At a young age he started songwriting, which became a main outlet for him. Performing consistently during his teenage years, Reasn’s talents led him to travel to various cities around the country from St Louis to Atlanta to New York and finally Los Angeles, where he is based now. Once in LA, he connected with a few of producers who gave him the freedom to experiment sonically and lyrically, combining classic and edgy and playing with elements of R&B, hip hop, pop and classic rock. Soon after he opened for the likes of Estelle, PJ Morton, Tinashe,  and BoB. 

Over the past years he released music and performed at BET Music Matters and ASCAP “On the come up”,  RevoltTV Sessions and at SXSW festival and a  residency at LA’s famous Sayers Club. 

As a singer-songwriter Reasn strives to make music that is honest and timeless, influenced by some of the greatest...The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Michael Jackson, artists who are not afraid to take risks and cross boundaries and musical genres.

BIOGRAPHY:

Having previously never worked with a band or performed to anyone except a select few close friends, singer songwriter Lee Fender returned home from gigs for more years than he can remember with a growing feeling of ‘this is what I need to be doing' and decided that it was high time to put words into action. An unorthodox approach to both playing the guitar and song writing made him an intriguing character to work with.  Andy Dimelow was the first to get on board.

Formerly frontman of 'The Quixotic', Dimelow headed South following the band’s breakup. Fate brought him back North and upon reading an advert for a guitarist to team up with an ambitious local songwriter, the desire to get back performing was as great as ever. With the addition of keen young drummer Cal Ryan and experienced Bass player Glen Sutton, 'Status Unknown' was born.

The debut gig was a poignant occasion for Lee. Not only the first time stepping foot on a stage, but a tribute concert in memory of close friend and fellow musician Andy Yoxall – one of the said friends he performed to behind closed doors. Andy had always championed Lee’s sound and urged him to take it further.

The band blasted through set opener ‘Run Now Boy’ and closed with appropriately titled ‘All in Good Time’, to a very appreciative audience. Fuelled by the positive reception, Status Unknown felt ready to progress and take their high energy sound to the road.

At the beginning of 2016 Andy and Lee set up their own recording studio and have been laying down tracks for a another EP to be released in 2017, two of these bare bone tracks can be found on here on Soundcloud, tracks like 'I still rely on you' and ‘To the water’ showing glimpses of what may be to come.  With the anticipated release of their second EP 'Population 1', Status Unknown will soon be captivating us with their best work yet.
