Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora are releasing the third volume in the 'It Began In Africa' charity compilation series on Kittball Records. For this, the label has teamed up with "The African Children's Choir", licensed their music and organised a selection of producers to remix them whilst contributing their royalties to the choir. The money will provide shelter, education and a new home for African children in need.

We’re welcoming newfound Etiquette favourite, Eskuche, back to the label this month with his brand-new killer rework of Hannah Wants’ ‘Love Somebody’; an essential club ready remix that was made with the dance floor in mind. Following up from his recent smash on the label with his debut ‘Passion’ EP, which soared up the Beatport charts, Eskuche returns with this bass influenced rework of the original; oozing his instantly recognisable sound with effervescent drum grooves, arpeggiated synths, a low end stuttering bassline and, of course, those infectious chopped vocal cuts. That’s right, @kyle-watson is back to drop another solo record on the label most loved by cats and humans everywhere. Remember that time at CRSSD Festival when your face melted? Yep, that was ‘Oh The No’.

Oh The No is a heavily processed record with a warmth that rivals most others. For those of you who don’t speak 'producer talk', that basically means if this track was a colouring-in book then each different page would be a perfectly arranged rainbow of smooth shapes and round squiggles. And 10 points to you if you can pick out the part where Kyle sampled himself eating…

The thing that really makes this record special is the way Kyle has been able to capture the raw and organic feel of the chords, yet still keep it sounding polished and clean. Some old, some new - it’s a mix of all of the genres and styles that I’m feeling at the moment. "How Long Have You Been Away?’ is the first single off of krypt. vol2, following the 1st volume that released in August 2020. The last few months, I’ve rediscovered my love for french-house and disco-house from the early 2000s. This one is a bit more melancholic than most of my music; it talks about missing someone or something. In my case specifically, it was about the times of innocence that I miss from my late childhood / early adulthood. I think in this moment, we’re all missing the times we had before all this nonsense started. HLHYBA is imo, an ode to good times & memories."

kryptogram is a Chicago based producer & DJ.
Emigrating to the US from war-torn Serbia in the early 2000s, kryptogram (born Igor Loncar) grew up in a musically fruitful household. Obsessed with recreating sounds he heard on Daft Punk’s ‘Discovery’, he dove into electronic production at 15, discovering his love for house music. Drawing influences from Chicago house, 90s UK garage, and early-2000s disco-house, he has developed his artistic sound as an intricate combination of inescapable house grooves, crisp production, and soothing melodies.

“krypt. vol2 is the second instalment of my ‘krypt’ EP series. It’s a mixtape-like EP, named after a ‘crypt’ (underground vault holding the remains of a person); in this case it’s my musical vault with several new + old tracks I’ve had in my unreleased catalogue. It touches various genres like the previous one, from garage stuff to a bit faster house, to slowed down nu-disco. I rarely get inspired by current music, most of the time I’m listening to records at least 15-20 years old but wondering how they would sound if they were made today.

The EP also features two songs (Never Enough, L.U.V.) with my own lead vocals, which a first for my releases thus far. I really enjoy making longer music projects which is why I’ve always gravitated towards LPs and albums, as a producer and a listener. It allows you to dive in a bit deeper in the mind of the creator and see where their emotions lie across a longer body of work. A single often doesn’t have enough power to allow you to see behind the curtain.”
