I have a massive folder full of my slowed edits that i've been sitting on for a while. I've been playing a couple of joints on the radio show or in my live sets and everyone keeps asking for them so here is one of my faves. 

Please know that I don't produce or remix anything. I just slowed down the track for myself to hear & digest the music differently :)

Working off Ableton and a simple Korg SP-170S keyboard in tandem with a nanoKontrol 2, Invention often ventures out into the forest to record ambient sounds with a ZOOM H4n and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 880's strapped over his head. 

After kickstarting his first sounds with the good folks at @Kolossus-Records, Invention is fast becoming a must watch artist for 2015!

Quickie From US- "We first discovered Josef Salvats music with his single Hustler about 18 months back.... The song was so authentic and emotional and his voice was alike nothing we had heard. We did some research and found out he was quickly signed and we were sure it was only a matter of time before this guy was doing Sam Smith things. We had always wanted to remix his work but to be quite honest we thought we would write and he would just say no hahah... SO when we heard open Season we fell in love all over again. His unmistakable voice and haunting yet oddly uplifting lyrics... We decided to grow some balls and reach out, well not us we used our manager as cover... Sorta like sending your ugly friend over to find out of a girls single...! To our surprise Josef was totally down and we got the stems As you may have noticed lately we have been on a downtempo kick. Made its the food we've been eating, or weather but we have really enjoyed making this alternative tracks to our usual remix style. For us its important to go left sometimes as experimenting with new styles and sounds really opens up our creativity and thats certainly was the case with this. Anyway we ended up with this wonderful downtempo track that has a lot of organic sounds in it paired with the synths. We sent it over to Salvat and Co. and they loved it! It's been about 2 years now that we've been playing this track from the modest and ridiculously talented LP aka Lisa Preston who hails from Wellington, New Zealand. Lisa is known for her singing but stepped away and layered Marvin's vocals with some beautiful percussion, drums, and keys. It wasn't until Soulection Radio Show #115 that we were reminded of how amazing and timeless this Marvin Gaye edit truly is. We then realized that it was never released and decided that we needed to change that. Here we are! Another quality & free gem for you here in 2013. This is yet another reason why we are here to take over. The world needs more quality vibes. Spread this if you feel it. 

"This track is about 7 years old now !  ha ha .... the stems to Marvin Gaye's "What going on" were floating around the internet and everyone in Wellington with an MPC seemed to be making re-edits of the tune. I was pretty novice on the MPC , still am (!) but thought it might be nice to blend some of the percussion from that tune with an acapella I had of 'Sexual Healing'. I had some nice rhodes samples that I'd cut up in my MPC so just kinda fooled around with it and got a nice lil groove going on and here we are years down the line =)"
