Amid a world in flux, where violence is rampant and uncertainty roams, music and celebration can create spaces of solace.

This live set was recorded after Ayla Schaffer opened up a prayer for peace at Garden of Light in Ibiza.

We then celebrated and brought up the frequency of light and love to elevate our spirits together.

A few weeks ago I had the honor & PLEASURE to initiate a new vision and project into the Berlin-o-sphere:  Djing the first Flow Dance | Women's Ecstatic Dance--in the epic Genezareth Church—hosted by a visionary krew of EPIC women that have been feeling a void, and are now filling it with tsunamis of SOUL JUICE and purpose.

This was FAR beyond being a “nice” event hosted by women for women:  this was a declaration of female bodies unapologetically taking in their space, a portal of liberation (recognizing & not bypassing our privileges to dance and move so freely), and it was like we were all collectively drinking a cup of sweet nectar after being in the desert-of-modernity:  our hungry/thirsty bodies were SOAKING up this nourishment & empowerment, clearly revealing how NEEDED such spaces are for the female-bodied, and what a LACK there actually is.

I've been pondering the subtle (and not so subtle) undertones of misogyny that penetrates most aspects of the dominant structures found in our world (that either objectifies or suppresses female bodies, not to mention the suppression of feminine/cyclical nature of all living-sentient-beings)....I've also encountered a LOT of unconscious patterns within the  “conscious-scene” as a female DJ over the years (territorialism competition, entitlement, extraction-based-lack-of-relationality), so this co-creation with these fabulous creatrixes was TRUE NECTAR for my sensitive-rebel-hearted-artist-soul...FULL SUPPORT!

PROGRAM NOTE
For many years, my wife Victoria and her FAB5 quintet (string quartet and percussion), have entertained thousands of people at numerous performance spaces and travel hubs in New York City, including Moynihan Train Hall, Oculus World Trade Center, Javits Center, and Chelsea Market. Having seen many of their shows, especially those at travel hubs, there's a certain tension and release you experience watching people wait anxiously for their trains, and then the release they feel when they are finally on their way. I've had these experiences myself, so I wanted to create two pieces that emulate these feelings.

Wound Up/Unwind consists of two contrasting pieces for string quartet and percussion. The first, Wound Up, for string quartet and cajón, imitates the feeling of being worried, anxious, and frustrated, especially while waiting to board a train. The second, Unwind, for string quartet and handpan, is calm and soothing, perhaps emulating the satisfying feeling of relaxing in a quiet seat as the train leaves the station. Both pieces can be performed independently and in any order.

Wound Up/Unwind is written for and commissioned by the FAB5 quintet with support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy named Space Flowers, lived a beautiful girl, with long golden hair and snow-white skin. She was born in a different galaxy, where she couldn’t find joy and happiness, because that galaxy didn’t have much beauty around it. She was constantly sad and didn’t know the reason behind her sadness, till one day, when she saw a strange thing floating in the air. It was pink and green, and white and all these colors blew her mind away, she couldn’t figure out what that beautiful roundish shape and that smell was. Oh, the smell made her forget everything she knew before. Her new existence started for her, and all she could do was to think about the beautiful thing with a magnificent smell. Weird, magical things started to happen every time, she was smiling and was feeling joyful beautiful  things starting to grow in the sky. It would start with a small seed and would grow into the beautiful, differently shaped, colored and variously scented things. As she was always flowing in her galaxy, she named them flowers. Flowers gave her so much joy and happiness.  Soon enough they were everywhere, the whole galaxy was full of them, but for some reason not every creature in that galaxy would appreciate their beauty and scent. This broke the girl’s heart and she was crying and when she was sad flowers started to lose their scent and petals; The girl didn’t want this to happen to her flowers and one day she left her galaxy, took only the moon, fire and music with her, she traveled for a long long time, till she found a heavenly colorful and beautiful galaxy. Then she knew her flowers would always feel safe, loved and appreciated. Soon enough her galaxy became her home, and she named it Space Flowers Galaxy. She would float in the sky surrounded by King Proteas and wildflowers. She would spin the fire with her dragon stuff under the moonlight. The moon became her best friend because the girl was showing her so much love, she was always there for her, covering her into the space flowers, making different flower crowns and bouquets for her each day. The moon never felt so loved before and she decided to stay full, covered in flowers. And they would spend days infinitely doing what they loved the most, light up the galaxy, spin the fire, listen to the music and watch the flowers bloom  in space.

  Temple started his journey into music on the road, hitching rides across America, working on organic farms, living the off grid lifestyle. After a long tramp through the states Temple set his troubadour eyes on to Europe. Seeking the counter culture of our lost societies he moved from place to place. After nearly 4 years on the road He moved to Berlin to settle into the vibrant artistic community. 
Since then the Washington, DC native has been making waves in Berlin’s underground music scene 
Temple’s live repertoire includes intimate solo acoustic shows, full band shows, downbeat live sets, mystical DJ sets, and ambient soundscapes… 
Temple also dives deep into sound design, film score composition, brainwave entrainment frequencies, and ancient mantras bringing the underground Berlin music scene and spirituality together in harmony.
