Being dedicated to music since his younger age, nowadays as a DJ and producer Menno expres himself through musical innovation, telling his own story and take you along a warm and melodic journey.

With a track record of EP’s on various highly respected labels like Oliver Schories Soso, Einmusika, Gem Records, Hernan’s Sudbeat, Ananda’s Soulful Techno and several powerful releases on Olivier Weiters Weiter label – like the bombtracks Colors, Disclosure and No Saints – he already regarded as a more than reliable producer! So it’s no surprise at all that his music found his way to the ‘dj bags’ of heavyweights such as John Digweed, Kölsch, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Yotto and Maceo Plex.

But also as a dj Menno earned his stripes! Becoming the winner of the Dutch Pioneer DJ Contest in 2014 and playing at leading festivals like Loveland, Amsterdam Open Air, (Herfst)Drift, Smeerboel, Pleinvrees and Lief. But also leading venues like Paradiso, 013, De Effenaar, Tivoli and his ‘own’ Doornroosje, in his hometown Nijmegen, have already experienced the energetic and warm sets by the man himself. With a focus on new musical goals, interesting collaborations and some cool releases and gigs, we definitely can expect some fine things in the near future for sure!

The day begins gloriously: a bright sky, a fresh wind, the houses newly washed. On our way to the bar Boris and I discussed the book. The Last Book – which is going to be written anonymously. A new day is beginning. I felt it this morning as we stood before one of Dufresne's glistening canvases, a sort of déjeuner intime in the thirteenth century, sans vin. A fine, fleshy nude, solid, vibrant, pink as a fingernail, with glistening billows of flesh; all the secondary characteristics, and a few of the primary. 

A body that sings, that has the moisture of dawn. A still life, only nothing is still, nothing dead here. The table creaks with food; it is so heavy it is sliding out of the frame. A thirteenth century repast – with all the jungles notes that he has memorized so well. A family of gazelles and zebras nipping the fronds of the palms! 

Seldjan Dervish fell asleep with the sheiks and woke up days later inside the endless Sahara desert. This is his first single offering for Shango Records. These two tracks will guide you through the medina for the black dream. Jeronimo Karpouzakis and Jack Essek are already there.
