indeed it's amazing how different the recordings are

I recorded fireworks with a whole bunch of microphones and this is a demo comparing 1) a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040 in ORTF stereo configuration, 2) a Schoeps CCM41 + Schoeps CCM8 in M/S configuration, decoded wide 3) mix of the two stereo recordings.

The two stereo rigs were placed in the same location, about 15 meters from the fireworks.
