'Stožice Walk’ represents the conclusion of the ‘Sonic Ontology of Negligence’ trilogy, initiated in 2020 by Steklenik – Gallery for sound, bioacoustics and art, from Ljubljana.

The first part of the trilogy was a sound work titled ‘Sonic Ontology of Negligence' produced as a publication and a series of in-situ FM radio sound walks.

The second piece, composed of the material gathered in the performative walk through abandoned mega-structure Stožice, is ‘Nothing Has To Happen, Fortress Europe’, commissioned by Radiophrenia 2022.

"Sonic Ontology of Negligence is continuous research evolving from listening to abandoned places and landscapes reshaped by the extensive intervention of human presence and exploitation, and eventually “given over” to Nature to reclaim the space."

My intention with the trilogy was to tackle the sphere of the politics of sound and to put a soundscape in a wider socio-cultural framework.

With this work I tried to build a synthesis that included geoanthropology - an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the interaction between Earth processes and humanity, then, I searched for common denominators of the phenomenology of listening and the culture of memory as well as systems ecology which focuses on interactions and transactions within and between biological and ecological systems and is especially concerned with the way the functioning of ecosystems can be influenced by human interventions.

pre-orders available now via IMPREC.comIn 1970 Harry Bertoia had been developing his sonic sculptures for over ten years. He had only been composing/recording for two years and the four long pieces chosen for this CD find him starting to arrive at the sonic forms he had been searching for.

Hints Of Things To Come is one of the most unique and melodic pieces discovered so far in the Bertoia tape archive. In this piece we hear him slowly create and articulate a musical riff.  Bertoia builds this phrase patiently until the composition reaches an intense climax where the riff is played heavily and distinctly.

7 ½ & 7 ½ Combined, another historic standout, is one of the earliest examples of Bertoia overdubbing by playing a tape and then performing along to the playback.

This CD is defined by ambient passages, long drones, gongs that sound like whales, shimmering harmonics and the feeling of an artist searching for sounds deep within his own sonic sculpture.

Tod Dockstader's Aerial series, an electronic/drone masterpiece, is cherished among fans of the artist's work and this first volume is available in a double LP edition of 500 copies with 100 copies on clear vinyl exclusively for Imprec mailorder customers. 

     15 years in the making, Tod Dockstader's Aerial series is sourced from his life long passion for shortwave radio. Dockstader collected over 90 hours of recordings, made at night, and comprised of cross signals and fragments plucked from the atmosphere.

       Opening with airwave drones, Dockstader gradually allows elements to slowly come and go, summoning an ominous atmosphere of ethereal cloud clouds. Malignant placidity continues, giving the feeling of eavesdropping upon late-night audio activity not unlike discovering number stations while sweeping the dials. These sounds pull you in as their density and rhythms come and go. 
 
      Backward voices, deep echoing choruses of conversations flowing under the surface, ocean sounds, pulsing electro-rhythms, all seem to be created via the collaging of many hours of source recordings. A masterwork of collage and juxtaposition by an overlooked pioneer of American electronic music. 

Artwork by John Brien (Imprec) is inspired by the propagation of shortwave radio signals throughout the earth's atmosphere.

Golden Leaf is the 19th album by the Italian experimental band Larsen here exploring free-form sounds and spatial dynamics by real-time composing and creating a sonic and social environment.  It also confirms the love and interest the band has for collaborations as ongoing dialogues and portals to new paths.

 This album documents a four-hour site-specific performance by Larsen and Alessandro Sciaraffa featuring interactive sound totems designed by Alessandro Sciaraffa and exclusive food creations by chef Gabriele Gatti. The performance took place at a secret location in Torino (Italy) in 2021 and was meant as an alchemical rite with the audience as an integral part of it. It was recorded and then edited and assembled into two pieces by long-time collaborator, sound engineer, solo musician Paul Beauchamp.
