Italian duo Dirty Channels make their Glitterbox debut following several standout DJ sets playing for the party, and the disco house track 'Make You Cry' aligns perfectly with the label's catalogue of dancefloor gems. The pair, comprised of Take It Easy label residents Davide Le Merlus and Simone Giudici, utilise classic production techniques to great effect and this release is no exception. Short, sampled loops are manipulated with ease, generating energy as a sidechained 4x4 kick transports you to an Italian all-night disco.

His previous release on the label, ‘Brotherly Love Divine’ with Soul City Connection, demonstrated the acclaimed producer’s fresh sound in full flow – offering selectors a record that embodies the feel of Glitterbox. Similarly, ‘How It Feels’ is a funk-and-soul-inspired house track that features an addictive, uplifting vocal sample; live instrumentation combines with electronic mastery to create an instant Riva Starr classic.

Parisian producer Young Pulse collaborates with London artist Fleur De Mur for ‘Smooth Sweet Talker’, a sparkling disco release on Glitterbox. The two share a reverence for disco and its many sub-genres; Young Pulse’s energetic sets and remixes encompass everything from boogie and house to funk and nu disco while Fleur De Mur specialises in serving familiar yet fresh disco vocals alongside sleek songwriting. ‘Smooth Sweet Talker’ is a love letter to classic disco with all the bells and whistles; Fleur’s vocalisations and distinct spoken word sections punctuate Young Pulse’s quintessential bass guitar licks, brass instrumentation and striking string runs all giving that throwback feel.

House legend and Rinse FM resident Shadow Child has teamed up with Doorly on new single ‘Climbing (Piano Weapon)’, which is now available to stream on Soundcloud. Following a premiere on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show, the new vocal version of 'Piano Weapon' (co-written by MNEK) will be released by Polydor Records this November. Following a run of remixes for big names such as Hot Natured, London Grammar and most recently Duke Dumont, Shadow Child is currently working on original material and playing a run of live dates in Ibiza and across the UK including a London show supporting the legendary Groove Armada.
 
Simon Neale’s darker, bass-heavy alter ego Shadow Child was born in 2012 with the signing of his bassline house classic ‘String Thing’ to Dirtybird Records. Championed across the world by DJs including Annie Mac, Jamie Jones and Eats Everything, Shadow Child’s early house tracks have attracted a global fan base. Now playing the closing shows on his Summer 2014 tour, Shadow Child will be hitting the studio to complete his debut full-length release. This is the third installment in the Local Sugar Diggers Series from Scruniversal in which old and rare records from the label head's friend's collections get reworked and edited. This one is a collab between ScruScru and an equally passionate digger from Cyprus known as Dwaal. Both tunes offer quite different looks but with great results. The first is the steamy and loose-limbed 'Destination? Funk!' with its squelchy bass and neat guitar riffs, while the flipside is a super deep and lush downtempo jam, 'Camelot Chill'. This one has romantic sax notes and gentle grooves with jazzy keys finishing it in style.

UK house mainstay Nail has some long roots that go all the way back to the Nottingham scene of the mid-cities as part of the DiY crew, while he also explored more downtempo sounds as one half of Bent. He is still very much kicking out the jams all these decades on, always with a nice sharp groove and crisp hi hats. That is the case again here with his Mercy EP on Kick-n-Dance which ones with the striped back and infectious 'Broccoli', gets more deep and vibes with 'Lettuce' and comes doused in soul in the case of the flipside opener 'Whas Happenin' which channels Marvin Gaye. 'Spring Greens' is another smart tech house closer that does everything right.
