Toy Tonics signed Gee Lane also known as Virginie. Her debut Metamorphosis EP (with remixes by Demi Riquísimo and Divorce From New York Remix & PIEK will come out in October. 
Gee Lane is a Venezuelan DJ and vinyl digger based in Barcelona. Gee Lane has been djing with the Toy Tonics Krew already for more than a year now. Kids who go to dance to the Toy Tonics Jam happenings around Europe might have seen her jamming with Kapote and the TT krew and spreading her fabulous music with an extremely positive energy and attitude. Gee Lane is a unique personality with a very strong style (in music but also as a person) and very elaborated ability to read and play with the dancers. Now she delivers her first ever EP. Recorded in Barcelona and Berlin with a little help by Robin Braum from Athlete Whippet. And it reflects well her roots and passion for everything what came out from New York in sense of dance culture. You can hear influences from the 80‘ promo disco scenes as well as the 1990 Body & Soul/ Francois Kervorkian ä/ Joe Claussell universe. In fact Gee Lane after being raised in Cara as and musically educated by her father from a very early age, (a composer and musician) she moved to New York at a very young age in the late 90's where she fell in love with the HOUSE scene. And especially everything that happened at the famous and influential ’Body & Soul’ club.

This culture increased her curiosity to become a DJ (and vinyl digger herself) who is not just interested in house music but wants to explore other genres such as funk , Hip-Hop , jazz and Latin sounds and include these vibes into her DJ sets. A vinyl collector (and long time record shop employee) since then, she is known for her musical eclecticism that leads her to mix everything what she wants ...

Besides her DJ activity she is the host of the radio show: Table For Two on Radio d59b (Belgrade/Berlin).

Gee Lane now is a steady member of the Toy Tonics Krew and is already playing the Toy Tonics Jams all around Europe. A second EP is in the making.

Small Great Tunes Vol. 3 is the next chapter here at Small Great Things. This powerful compilation features original tracks from artists on the Small Great Things label. The journey begins with the new collaboration between Marc Brauner & Luca Olivotto, titled "Hallo Hallo" (A1). Following that, we have Marc's original track "Many Times" (A2), a beautiful deep cut. A3 brings us "Love Moves" by Luca Olivotto, a warm and smooth house track with a rave-like bass sound, guaranteed to fill the dancefloors.

Moving on to the B side, we kick things off with "Sweat" by David Silver, a high-energy and groovy tune perfect for peak times. B2 is taken by Nephwes, presenting a slightly deeper and faster track with a captivating ambiance and a strong baseline. Finally, to conclude the journey in B3, we have DJ Merci's brilliant production, a deep track surrounded by house elements, making it a perfect addition to any dance floor.

From early residencies at weekly student nights in Glasgow to playing a pivotal role behind the scenes at La Cheetah Club, Big Miz has been immersed within the city's walls since he was a teenager. Weekends spent crafting his sound behind the booth and creating lifelong friendships at the city's famous after-hours scene have helped create an ecosystem for success. In Glasgow, even larger labels are always keen to support local talent and during one of his frequent visits to Rub A Dub Records, Big Miz was introduced to Dixon Avenue Basement Jams which eventually led to the release of his first EP.

Miz has carried this Glasgow courtesy throughout his whole career, which eventually led to connecting with HOMAGE label head Ryan Clover where they exchanged feedback and spins before locking down a release on the label's heavy schedule. The New York based label's ethos shares parallels to Glasgow's - collaborative, fluid, and always ready to party.

Title track 'Where I Belong' wastes no time on introductions, combining a range of hardware and software into a kaleidoscopic recording created for peak time. 'Everything's Fine' demonstrates Miz's knack for groove and melody, where classic acid sounds meet demanding stabs and an irresistible groove. Inspired by early house records, 'The Feeling' makes its presence felt with chunky kick drums and uplifting vocal samples; Big Miz's attention to detail and years of dancefloor education shines through, first establishing a hypnotic introduction and powerful transitions that have us hooked from the first bar.

The EP is beautifully rounded off by LUXE's remix of the title track 'Where I Belong', following on from her standout EP on the beloved label Planet Euphorique. LUXE swaps rolling kick drums in favor of breakbeats and an ethereal backdrop. The space between musical elements is key, allowing us to breathe as our perspective shifts high above the city's clouds.

Border Patrol's Stu Adams, Simon Gibb & Jonathan Porter only ever released one EP to their name which we are pleased to represent here again on Rezpektiva. Originally recorded for Middlesbrough's Tumblin' Records in the mid 90's and released in small quantities, it's an EP which displays a canny variety of House music.
