Geralt meets Renfri and her band at a tavern, later Geralt and Renfri meet up where Geralt is staying and Renfri starts to tell Geralt her life's story. Renfri wants Geralt to kill the sorcerer and not her. Geralt instead asks Renfri to forgive the sorcerer and she agrees (or so he though), later that night, Geralt and Renfri make love. The following morning, the alderman and Geralt have breakfast and the alderman talks of the "tridam ultimatum" and Geralt realized that he has been duped.
