Musik ist ein Katharsis-Werkzeug, mit dem ich meine Gefühle ausleben kann, wenn ich mich von ihnen überwältigt fühle. Sie ist gleichzeitig ein Raum für Ausdruck, Empowerment, Synergien und die Verbindung mit anderen Menschen

//Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?//
Ich bereite gerne ein Set oder einen Podcast vor, indem ich von einem Gefühl ausgehe. Dann schaue ich mir Soundcloud und Youtube an. Die Clubs in Leipzig oder Berlin sind großartige Quellen, um mich zu inspirieren.

//Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern?//
Auch wenn sich die Linien bewegen, fehlt es immer noch an Auftritten von FLINTA*, POC und Menschen mit Behinderungen.

About: 

The name Mareia stands for bouncy and eclectic sound as well as dirty bits and pieces. Her style on the one hand lets you dance automatically and on the other hand sometimes raises an honest smile into the crowd's faces. Being just a DJ is not enough for the likeable 27 years old Russian/Austrian mélange, so she is into producing as well. There’s one obvious fact, if you get in touch with Mareias sound as a recipient and dancer: You will always get thrilled!

▻ Who is your favorite artist?

I don't have a specific favourite artist, it changes frequently when I discover new music or new DJs. But I am a big fan of Yan Cook's productions. I also have a lot of great DJs in my circle of friends. 

▻ What would be your dream club to DJ at?

Hard to say, Berghain would be the biggest dream of course, but I would love to play at Khidi and Bassiani in Georgia, or Printworks in London or De School in the Netherlands.

▻ Where was your most exciting gig?

At Contact festival, where I opened the Hard Techno floor before Nico Moreno and other techno superstars like Hector Oaks and Paula Temple. I was very excited! I have never played in front of so many people on a festival stage. It was insane! I love it when I get to play on great equipment and extraordinary locations. But every gig is something special for me.

▻ What do you do besides DJing?

I work as a project manager in the media/innovation industry. I've also been doing the booking at the Harry Klein Club in Munich since May 2022, which will unfortunately close at the end of May. 

▻ Do you have a favourite animal?

Ducks!
