Blur Records returns to present the debut of German DJ and Producer Jan Witte, who delivers a wonderful EP entitled "Second Try" featuring 3 remixes by the outstanding producers T.Markakis, Simon Hinter and ColorJaxx.

The first and only original track "Second Try" is undoubtedly a very special one, reminiscing early 2000s house classics, it features dreamy deep chords and subtle percussive passages, displaying a complex bass arrangement and sophisticated swings.

The first remix of "Second Try" is by the prolific Greek producer - T.Markakis, who delivers a driving pumping track with expansive drum work on the original, with an elaborated bassline and a trademark style that characterizes T.Markakis sound.

Next, we have the second remix by German wunderkind - Simon Hinter - who delivers a true reinterpretation of the original track, with a more oriented garage bassline, slick drum work and infectious synthesizers. A composition finely remixed.

To close the release we have the last remix featuring Belgium producer ColorJaxx, a very well-achieved composition on its own, paying a beautiful homage to the original one with its progressive pads in conjunction with the reworked bassline showcasing the artist's capability for remix assignments.

First experiences with Hip Hop, Michael Jackson, The Prodigy and lots of Dance music in the late 90s up to his first beats, scatching experiences and Freestyle sessions in the early 2000s, Simon is exploring more and more electronic music playgrounds. 

Through his work at a his good friend's record store and his first techno parties, he learned a lot about deejaying and other music genres. 

These years were to create a mastery in melodic electronica and shape a deeper perspective that has found home on several labels all around the globe. 

Simon’s music is an anomaly that arose not as a result of a scene but from his concentrated efforts as a fun-loving individual with like-minded buddies. 

Citing influences such as hip-hop, drum&bass, soul, jazz, soundtracks, videogames, Simon identifies himself as a Producer and a DJ

Simon is also releasing downbeat, instrumental HipHop beats under his nickname "Mr.Backside". 

One more only need listen to understand what his sound is about.

Martin Schmieger Aka Reiner Von Vielen had already recorded all DJ sets on the radio in the mid-nineties. At that time he supplied his classmates with a double cassette deck and developed his first feeling for digging music. In 2001, he came into contact with OKJ Jena for the first time. A first love for radio developed, which was to last for another two years. After that, he started leaving half of his fortune in record shops and quickly reached thousands of records. In 2007, all the hustle and bustle had become too much for him and he disappeared from the Jena scene again for the time being. In 2011, he made his glorious comeback as a radio presenter and the Herzklopfen Radio programme in OKJ was born. Every 4th Friday of the month, the crème de la crème of the Jena house and techno scene came to his studio. Today he is mainly responsible for booking, new introductions and the internationalisation of the Radio Electronica brand.
