November 'I Love Techno' DJ Mix 2013

Michna's "Increasing Ambition" is taken from the Hohokum Soundtrack out August 12 as a 22-song digital compilation and on October 28 as a rainbow-colored 12” vinyl sampler featuring seven special cuts.

Hohokum is a distinct creative collaboration between artist Richard Hogg and Honeyslug, a London-based game studio. The vibrantly whimsical game emphasizes exploration and creativity with a playful touch. With the vision to create an experience free of typical video games pressures, Honeyslug delivers inspiring and unique gameplay in Hohokum.

Players take on the role of a flying, Technicolor being, like a curious kite. Travelling through the colorful world, players can uncover secrets by interacting with elements around them in different ways—such as carrying characters to new areas on their back or flying over objects to illuminate them. Hohokum is full of surprise; even running into certain objects can be its own reward, as the interaction produces music or effects which add to the level’s soundtrack. From the way a player navigates the world to how characters can communicate to the vividly abstract artwork, Hohokum is an expressive and mesmerizing universe. While there are goals, secrets, and trophies discovered along the way, at its heart, Hohokum is a playground—a place to wander about and get lost in.

The music of Hohokum mirrors the game’s eclectic and detailed landscape, with a wide selection of Ghostly artists contributing their songs. Between musicians and producers like Tycho, Shigeto, Matthew Dear, and Com Truise, the soundtrack is a fully realized exhibition of contemporary electronic sounds. The latest addition of Roam Recordings offers three stunning remixes of Berlin based 80s New Wave inspired band Pardon Moi. Following the success of their singles “Addiction” on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and “Inside the Outside” on Nein (which has been featured on BBC Radio) the Berlin duo Pardon Moi consisting of Thomas Freudenthal and James Brook have penned the evocative “Power to the People” along with “Touch2Much” which have been released in original form on 7” vinyl from Hoga Nord Rekords. In the “Power to the People Remixes” EP, Roam Recordings has gathered together a dream team of top remixers - Damon Jee, Markus Gibb, and Curses - who each put their own spin on the originals. Damon Jee starts it out with an an energetic and anthemic version of Power to the People that’s sure to get people on their feet. Markus Gibb moves Power to the People into slightly darker and heavier territory with exquisite production that has become his trademark. Switching gears, Curses takes on Touch2Much and keeps the 80s vibe alive with a stylish upbeat dub that’s both quirky and fun.

All three of these remixes come together in an action packed trio of tracks that will surely be a go to when looking to get the dance floor movin’.

Exclusive The Magic Ray 'The Tuning of the Road (Simple Symmetry Remix)

Moscow based brothers Sasha and Sergey alias Simple Symmetry have been responsible for some of 2017's musical special treats. The basement inspired duo took on responsibility to remix Adam Port's 'I Never Wear Black' and even get deeper with releases on Disco Halal, Multi Culti, Correspondant and now Dischi Autunno. Latter is run by French DJane Jennifer Cardini and Noura Labbani and just had its EP, The Tuning of the Road by The Magic Ray, released. Simple Symmetry reworked the original, an Indie-Rock influenced song, and added their slightly discoish inspired vibe making the track both: more suitable for the dance floors and paying tribute to a multilayered approach in sounds.
