Taking the opportunity to explore a hypnagogic and meandering approach to their music, Night Sea presents the longform ambient single "Off Grid". The track was developed by the duo during the pandemic years, when time lacked its reassuring metronomic pulse.

Venturing out beyond the familiar cadence of their previous sequence based work, the piece glacially drifts across three neighboring soundscapes. Each zone is marked by aquatic environmental cues, detailed pops of hyperreal texture, and gently modulating synthesis.

Envisioned as the transition into sleep after a day’s journey across lakes and rivers, the work explores the realm of sonic perceptions as the mind rests in the fog of liminal dreaming.

A Walking Contradiction resurfaces with a new release by their friend & collaborator Katatonic Silentio, channeling a collection of tracks submerged in echoes and pressure-shaped pulses. AWC011 traces fluid architectures built from delay, decay, and deep resonance—each composition unfolding like sediment in motion. Sounds sway with tidal pull, suspended in chambers where space thickens and time refracts. Basslines emerge like sonar beneath shifting layers, while percussive elements flicker at the edges, softened by current and drag.

Elastic and disorientated, these underwater constructions are tuned to the language of depth and dissolution.

Logbook. Exploration mission.

Day 1. The planet is dead. An anomaly is detected — the time flow is slightly distorted.

Day 2. Landed in the central crater. The clocks of our suits show different times from the clocks on the ship. The gap is increasing.

Day 4. Logs contain records of events that never happened. A report of tomorrow’s evacuation appeared in the system. No one wrote it.

Day 5. We found footprints leading from the landing site to the crater, identical to ours. The ship log was discovered nearby. Final entry: “Do not enter the crater.”

Log transmission terminated. The crew did not reestablish contact.

Continuing the trajectory set by last year’s EPs and experimental long-player, Reeko returns to Samurai Music to deliver an expansive album that goes further into his experimental practice at the intersection of deep techno, drum & bass and electronica.

On Cryptophony, Rico continues this thread of exploration and uses the concept of inaudible or encrypted sounds as an inspirational jump-oﬀ point for an incredibly detailed, nuanced body of work. When meditative minimalism and insistent repetition are key compositional tools, the sound ﬁeld is opened up for subtlety in the spaces between notes, and that's precisely the experience Rico has crafted across seven extended pieces.

"Crytophony explores how sound can conceal, suggest or reveal information in a symbolic, sensory or ritualistic way," Rico explains. "I found it interesting as a first step to investigate further. There are no hidden messages in the music, but there are strange voices that, after the final process, sound transformed."

Pole Jam Vinyl – 'Showcase Mix Part 2' - (Mixed by Sasha Anastasov)

This release grew organically from an afternoon jam session at Johan's house in Berkeley, CA in June 2016. The basis for Loqui was recorded that day. Inspired by the energy of our first session, we went on to record and produce the rest of the EP by meeting on weekends and evenings to work around the schedule of our full-time jobs. Solis was the last track to take shape, and illustrates all of what we learn in the process of working together, as well as the close friendship that has developed between us. 

This self-titled EP is a first attempt at taking the listener on a reflective journey. We are incredibly excited to continue this adventure through new releases and live performances in 2017.
