Premiere: Polygonia - Zhìtáo

As a sign of solidarity, and an attempt to bring a shimmer of light into the current dark times, Monument has gathered a selection of tracks for a VA compilation. All profits from the release will go to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s fundraising campaign for the people of Ukraine, who need help now.

The diverse musical contributions were created by artists in over ten different countries - spanning from Scotland to Georgia, and Finland to Spain - reflecting the uniting power music can have beyond borders. The release’s sound palette ranges from introspective ambient pieces to dark and broken beats as well as more hopeful timbres.

Guiseppe Tillieci, Gianluca Meloni and Iacopo Sposaro from Enisslab studio have been so generous to offer the mastering for all the tracks. We wish to deeply thank both them and each of the contributing artists for lending their creative energy to this collaborative gesture for peace.

Mateo Moric debuts in Danza Nativa with his work entitled "Paciente EP" which consists of 3 original tracks and an exquisite remix by the emerging artist Launaea. His music has a variety of colours and shades that can be perfectly adapted to different times and environments.

An album designed to provide different tools to DJ's but also exposing his versatility as a producer. “Disposición” is a off-beat track ideal for heating up the dance floor. “Paciente” has a marked groove and a combination of elements that lead us to hypnosis. “Parábola” gives us the feeling of being a more physical and mental track for the peak time. The remix made by the Colombian artist breaks the matrix of the release with his interpretation of “Paciente” giving it a breakbeat style without losing depth but intensifying the journey and culminating the work in the best way.

The album Basquade, thus titled, means "get up" in the extinct Charrúa language, it is a concept album achieved through a single central narrative divided on separated episodes, starting with a cinematic intro track where the listener is fully immersed in a jungle environment giving a preamble to the next near 40 minutes of tribal techno, mysticism and organic atmosphere.

Press Release:
Midnight Traffic returns to the fort to add another string to his bow with ‘Unseen Locations’. This 5-track excursion into the realms of deep & hypnotic techno was created during the lockdown with a focal point on open-air settings. The release consists of 3 originals with his signature sound and 2 interpretations by the eminent Italian producer, Biocym. 

The title track, ‘Unseen Locations, gets the EP going with smooth, continuously undulating grooves, psychedelic themes, and haunting vocal samples that invoke a feeling of remembrance of outdoor environments. ‘Moral Perception’ advances this inspection, cementing his Goa-trance influences in a techno context, where he induces cosmic sound design, elastic rhythms, and detailed percussions, coalesced with metallic effects, fluid motifs & euphoric moments. 

The tension continues to bubble with his signature shimmering pads that take on a new context with ‘Rhythm of Rest’. What started out as an exercise in the world of VCV, results in a track that has a driving aura, laced with effervescent drones & cutting-edge rhythmic mutations. Biocym, a familiar name in the Italian deep techno circuit, joins the ensemble of music with his take on ‘Unseen Locations’ - a stern tool for any dance floor where the primordial emotive vocals take a new shape, whilst keeping the original motif intact. His second interpretation is of ‘Moral Perception’, an immediate immersion into aquatic ambiances, with captivating broken beats, metallic chirps, and intriguing waves of elements that make for a deep and eerie take on the original. 

Shaped by personal experiences and feelings of an imminent dystopian future, ‘Unseen Locations’ is a fully-formed organic evolution of Midnight Traffic’s distinctive sound. Qilla Records is an underground collective established in 2011, with the ethos of championing forward-thinking music in India. Since its inception, it has evolved into a bookings agency and events crew, leading the charge in curating transformative experiences, including its own pop-up festival - Alchemy. A decade later and with 90 releases, Qilla now has a more specific focus on Indian artists, pushing sounds of the country to a global audience and vice-versa.
