"Flippen Bits is the new offshoot from the Amsterdam based Flippen Disks label ran by Monty DJ. While the main imprint sets out to find its own space in between genres to move dance floors while staying non-functional enough for home listening pleasure, this new sub has a more functional approach. Wild and energetic, bass heavy bits for the more playful DJ's in the late nights.

First up is Marok (@letsgomaroki), the Wales raised and Amsterdam based producer, known for recent releases on E-Beamz and Shall Not Fade offshoot Lost Palms, comes in strong with four excellent futuristic bass hybrids. It also contains two MXC reworks created together with Nottingham's @coraliescoob

Coldred EP is a wild ride, it takes you from the heavy percussion title-track Coldred to the acidic stuttering breakbeats of Nightshop On The Way. The MXC version adds a true sub-heavy steppers vibe to the original where they flip TFMPP into a mesmerizing broken beat affair fit for the wormhole. With early support from DJ's like Madam X and mad miran it's an exciting new chapter in the Flippen Disks catalog with loads more lined up for the next year."

Since the inauguration of the ARKJAO imprint in 2018 the Göteborg, Sweden based producer and DJ has unveiled three EP’s for the label, one alongside his partner in Genius Of Time and Aniara artist Dorisburg, and two solo EP’s. Arkajo’s distinctive sound deftly blurs the lines between House, Techno and Bass always with a raw percussive edge. Here though we see him welcome another of Göteborg’s finest onto the label, Ebende, who delivers two originals on the package.
‘The Source’ opens the release with a raw percussive drive running alongside murky, billowing textures and dubbed out voices. Arkajo delivers his twist on ‘The Source’ next, reshaping the original with gnarly bass flutters, eerie subs, intricately shuffled organic drums and the originals dark and hazy atmospheric feel.
On the flip side the second original ‘Magic Land’ leads, once again embracing bumpy off-kilter drums at its core while bubbling bass tones and cinematic string lines subtly unfurl and evolve throughout. Pugilist’s take on ‘Magic Lands’ then rounds out the release, bringing a gritty electro edge to things courtesy of crunchy drums, a menacing bass lead and playful electronic bleeps all intertwined with fragments of the original.
