The Oblong Square is a unique esoteric symbol that represents the dual nature of humanity and the balance of opposing forces in nature.

Music was always a part of my life growing up in a small village in Italy. I now enjoy sharing it with those who share the same passion for it. Defining music according to "likes" on social media is meaningless. This is a journey within yourself and through the whole world.

Forced to learn the Piano at age 6.  I Hated it.  Became inspired by music as a Chorister.  Became a serious musician as a teenager, studied to Diploma standard and enjoyed itinerancy for a while.  Yes it was fun!

Real life had other ideas for some decades, but now retired, the Muse once again beckons.  Only this time I can go wherever the Muse takes me.  Often I have no idea where it will be.  And that is fun.

Here on Soundcloud you will find a mix of style and genres, maybe even a morphing with my own.  My comfort zone is Classical but then it gets a bit less distinct.

Prog Rock is a big influence no question, but I like to wander if the Muse moves, so don't be surprised if the style changes during a piece.  I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you.  Do make a comment if so.

Once upon a time I had to go through the rigorous trials of examinations and testing as a scholar and performing Classical musician, where every detail is critical and the technical focus is intense.

Now I have no judgement other than like or dislike.  Enjoy or not.  There is no 'good' or 'bad' music.  That now sounds pretentious to me.  I do what I like and enjoy.  I listen to what I like and enjoy.  

I spend no time putting down other music, and I have endless admiration for anyone who tries to play or create music no matter their ability.  They should always be encouraged not disparaged.

My partner used to ask me how I could put up with the sound of 6 year olds starting to learn the violin when I was teaching, as if this was a torment.  It obviously was for her.

But for me it was a privilege.  Every inch of progress was a shared conquest towards something special.  The screeching and scratching was music to my ears not a torment.  I suppose that is the difference?

Il signor Duronius & i Figli Silenziosi is a Finnish rock group, which was originally formed in 2002 in Siena, Italy. Now, after a couple of decades, they are back with their dark music and even darker lyrics that could be described as a unique mixture of pure melancholy and a lack of passion expressed with a punkish attitude.
