Sebastian Bayne is a DJ, producer and owner of IF? Records based in Sydney. His passion for techno extends beyond merely producing it. Having established an early appreciation for electronic music, he went on to become IF? Records' label owner in 2010, taking over from the label’s co-founder Andrez Bergen aka Little Nobody. The label was originally established in Melbourne in 1995, and has since moved to Tokyo and back to Australia, in Sydney, where it now resides.

Bayne’s experience isn’t limited to Australia. In fact, it wasn’t until the vinyl collector was studying in the UK that he first tried his hand at DJing. Since DJing professionally from 2000, he has reached heights that many others cannot attest to. He has performed at the Great Wall of China, toured China and Hong Kong as well as hold down his first residency in Beijing. He has performed twice in Georgia’s capital city, Tbilisi, with one being regarded as special for the artist, who’s 3 hour set turned into an 8 hour one. In the last few of years, Bayne has scored a regular closing slot at Tresor, Berlin. On
his most recent trip early this year, he played alongside Juan Atkins and Fred P. AKA Black Jazz Consortium, while in the past, he has been lucky enough to support some of the world’s best talent abroad, such as, Octave One, Heiko Laux, Alan Fitzpatrick and Vince Watson among many others. It’s these early moments in his career that have proven to be truly defining for that artist. Sebastian Bayne is known for playing and producing heavy techno. Heaving and pounding in all its glory. But Bayne isn’t one to limit his inspirations. Despite listing techno and reggae as his favourites, he listens to every genre from classical, to country and folk, rock, hip hop and world music. It is this point of difference that has led Sebastian to play at all the best techno parties in Sydney over the past decade including Technikal, Beware the Cat, Subservice, Deep as Funk, Lost Baggage and Disconnected.

This is a special 2 hours recording from Staub party at AboutBlank in Berlin. From ambient and experimental tracks to deep techno for the opening of the garden area, on Saturday 26th May, 2018.

Matteo Brigatti, aka GANDALF, is one of the founders and resident djs of GENAU, one of the leading techno nights in Northern Italy.

After years spent as clubber and amateur dj in the late ’90 and early ‘2000s and truly inspired by Turin underground scene, in 2003 he had the first opportunity to play in public at Docks Home club. After that he started playing in a large number of Turin’s clubs, exploring different styles in his dj sets (electro, prog-house, Chicago house, Detroit techno and minimal). In 2006 he had his first residency in the former night “Mood” every friday at Club Gamma, one of the most important club of the city, playing side by side with some of the most influential international djs, from Jerome Sydenham to Len Faki, from Solomun to Chris Carrier.

In 2008 the Mood experience stopped, and Gandalf started to get closer to UK and German techno scene. In 2010 he started the Stereo project, a techno night active in Turin until 2014, born as a different option to the mainstream tech-house sounds that dominated the scene in that period. In those years he became a real connaisseur of the new deep techno scene and started to promote these sounds in Turin, inviting (and sharing the console with many of them) artists such as Marcel Fengler, Luke Slater, Oscar Mulero, Donato Dozzy, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, Robert Hood, Norman Nodge, Rebekah, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, Ryan Elliott, Silent Servant, Regis, Steve Rachmad, Jonas Kopp and many more. But his passion for music never stuck him to just techno, as he continued to organize and playing in parties with more house sounds with different project (hosting djs such as Theo Parrish, Larry Heard, Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz, Moodymann, Estroe…).

He’s now resident dj and consultant for two of the most important Italian elecotronic music festivals such as Movement Torino and Kappa Futur Festival. He’s been regularly booked as guest in many parties (Dude, Il Suono, Glucose…) and festival around Italy (Nature Beat in Rome, Aurora Festival in Lecce, Forevergreen in Genova and Milan...)

In March 2013 he had the opportunity to play in the most important French techno party, Concrete, and in early 2015 he had his first gig in Berlin at Griessmuhle, followed by an appearance at Karnival Der Kulturen Kreuzberg. In Summer 2015 he as been booked for the "Numa" party in Tokyo, Japan, and in October 2015 he was guest of the infamous "Staub" party in Berlin before returning at About Blank for the "Away meets Genau" party in 2016 and at Kosmonaut in 2017. In April 2017 he returned in Japan where he performed at Dommune and at Unit in Tokyo.

After more than ten years spinning music, he decided that now it’s time to start producing his own techno tracks. His first releases have been published between 2013 and 2014 by the french dub techno label Gravite and today he’s committed to produce music on his own Genau Recordings label: he already release his first vinyl under the collective name Genau along with Noizyknobs and Kessa along with various digital releases.

His style is made of a mixture of energetic and traveling tracks, sometimes deconstructed and re-constructed through the aid of digital technologies and he is well known as a dj that can really understand and become sympathetic with the dancefloor in front of him.

Today he’s recognized as one of the most important promoter of techno sounds in Italy both as artist and as event organizer.
