Morcenx is the new album by Danton Jay. It is a recollection of the last five years of Danton's life from learning about the environmental challenges faced by today's society (consumerism, greed, addiction, overpopulation, hopelessness) to journeying in hopes of finding an answer to these challenges. The song genres vary throughout the album. Darker tones fill the beginning while hardships and issues are addressed; as the songs shift toward themes of love (which is represented as romantic love but is metaphorically intended to represent a deeper, holistic love of all things) the sound becomes groovier and brighter. Then as love is lost and complacency sets back in the music becomes darker again; climaxing with a spoken word David Suzuki essay over an improvised musical under layering.
