"Moment of Now," the fifth album of OE's Zen-inspired Suchness project, invites you to immerse yourself fully in the present. The gentle rhythmic beats and electronic sounds interweave to highlight moments of silence and emptiness. Now, let's dive in.

In "Moment of Now," the latest album from OE's soundscape project "Suchness," Tatsuya explores the concept of truly being present—feeling the present moment through mindfulness. Suchness, the Buddhism-originated term, originally connotes mindfulness: a state of mind characterized by focused attention, awareness, and acceptance of the present moment. Drawing on his background as a Japanese artist, Tatsuya further delves into how this essence can be expressed through his music, inspired by his unique connection to nature and sound.

In this album, he blends traditional methods of composing Suchness music—layering and eliminating sparse and aleatoric sounds and sequences—with contemporary rhythmic elements. Genres like disco often rely on repetitive beats and grooves, which can sometimes pull the audience away from the current moment, guiding them on a long journey through time. But Tatsuya's choice to slow down the rhythms and tempos carefully reverses that effect entirely. The deliberate-paced, thoughtful beats, through moments of silence and voids, invite heightened awareness of the present, like observing cells under a microscope or noticing subtle changes in our surroundings—slow-motion awareness of now.

This approach fosters patience, non-judgment, and mindfulness, encouraging the audience to be present and conscious of what surrounds them. By merging rhythmic beats with his traditional composition style in this project, Tatsuya creates a new perception of time in music: zeroing in on what you are hearing and focusing intensely on what is happening now.

- アルバム解説 -

OEのサウンドスケープ・プロジェクト『Suchness』の最新アルバム『In Moment of Now』は、「真に現在にいること」、すなわちマインドフルネスを通して「今」を感じるという概念に焦点を当てている。Suchness（あるがまま）という仏教に由来する言葉自体、現在の瞬間に対する集中した意識や知覚によって到達する心の状態、すなわちマインドフルネスという概念を含んている。タツヤは日本人アーティストとしてのバックグラウンドを活かし、自然と音との特有のつながりや禅思想からインスピレーションを得つつ、音楽を通してこれらの概念の本質をさらに深く掘り下げている。

このアルバムでは、従来の『Suchness』プロジェクトでの作曲法—つまり「繊細、かつ偶然性を持った音の連なりを重ね、差し引く」手法—と、現代的なリズム要素を融合させている。ディスコなどの音楽ジャンルでは、繰り返しのビートやグルーヴがしばしば聴衆を現在の瞬間から引き離し、長い時間軸を持つ旅へと誘う効果を生み出す。しかし、タツヤはこの作品において、リズムとテンポを意図的に遅くすることで、その効果を逆方向に変質させている。慎重に刻まれた思慮深いビートにより、沈黙や空白の瞬間が浮かび上がり、現在をより深く認識するよう促す。それは、顕微鏡で細胞を観察するように、あるいは周囲の微妙な変化に気づき、スローモーションのように「今」を認識すること。

このアプローチは、忍耐や判断しない態度（ノンジャッジメント）、そしてマインドフルネスを育み、オーディエンスに「現在に存在し、今自分を取り巻く環境に意識を向けること」を促す。リズムとビートを『Suchness』の従来のスタイルと融合させることで、タツヤは音楽における新鮮な時間認識を生み出すことを試みる。

For this Voices edition we unite producers across the techno panorama with different backgrounds in producing and playing music.
The theme of this series is to find your voice, to express your voice as well as listening to others.
Menous opening track “Meguri” carries an atmospheric, floating feeling, followed by an joyful and playful approach by Mary Yuzovskaya with “Late AM”. Then there is the spoken words (vinyl only), in the mothertongue of each Artist, on the A and B side to be explored. Additionally there are texts by Jule Hölzgen and Yun Park.
The B side opens with “Oya”, a track by Sarah Wreath exploring soundscapes and hypnotizing elements. The final track “Ash” by Laima Adelaide unfolds a colder atmosphere and groove.
The artwork by Yeliz Kiliçaslan encapsulates this vinyl in a textured envelope.

The ACCENTAPE series returns this winter with the label’s tenth cassette release. To mark the occasion, a new split was created, one side each, continuing the label’s aim to share music without limits of style, genre, or signature.

This time, Sub Accent, founder of the label, shares ACCENTAPE010 with his long-time friend Accou, an artist active in the Belgian experimental underground scene. His sound blends elements of ambient, sleep music, breakbeat, experimental, tribal, and neo-classical influences. The result is detailed and textured, with fluid synths and crafted rhythms that meet soft, layered melodies. Together, these four tracks bring a forward-looking and urban feel.

On side B, Sub Accent offers an EP shaped like the soundtrack of an imaginary science fiction film, with both bright and shadowy tones. It recalls early works from artists such as FUSE or Plastikman, exploring a futuristic and slightly dystopian world. Minimalist yet rhythmic, this part of the release moves through different atmospheres, from spacey and mental techno to energetic breakbeats, ambient passages, and metallic sound design.

Duncedog is an enigmatic SoundCloud artist and curator known for their eclectic taste and dedication to the platform’s underground music scenes.

Saša Delimar a.k.a. Infinity

DJ with over 15 years of experience, carving the name steadily as a music producer since 2017, first through releases in a domain of the deep techno and more recently taking the turn into the sphere of experimental music.

To date, he has been released on labels like Qeone, IO, Illegal Alien records, Lowless, Lett, Pyramid Blood and Oslated.

Saša’s chief preoccupation in music production is finding the balance
between a track for home listening and playing in the club, equally
embracing the experimentation of texture and composition and the
rhythmical intensity of the club track.

In the short time since he lives in Berlin, Saša has already performed in
renowned Berlin clubs like Suicide Circus, Griessmühle, Fiese Remise and //: about blank, taking up residency at Art Bei Ton.
